At WrestleMania 41, the Genius of the Sky, IYO SKY, retained her WWE Women’s World Championship by defeating both Rhea Ripley and Bianca Belair in a Triple Threat Match. Since then, SKY has not defended the championship. Her first title defense since WrestleMania 41 will be taking place at the second edition of the Evolution Premium Live Event.
Last night’s episode of Monday Night Raw kicked off with the former WWE Women’s World Champion Rhea Ripley. She had finally ended her rivalry against the Judgment Day this past weekend. She wrestled and defeated Raquel Rodriguez in a Street Fight at the Night of Champions Premium Live Event. The Eradicator came out during Raw to discuss what is next for her.
As Ripley was talking, out came the current WWE Women’s World Champion, IYO SKY. She claimed that Ripley is not at the top of the Women’s division as she does not hold the top title. The Genius of the Sky then revealed that WWE Raw General Manager Adam Pearce had given her the liberty to pick her challenger for the upcoming Premium Live Event Evolution 2. SKY announced that she picked Rhea Ripley as her challenger.
Following the segment, SKY took to Twitter to send a message to her Evolution opponent.
“It’s OFFICIAL!!!!!!!!! See you at WWE Evolution @RheaRipley_WWE. #WWERaw,” IYO SKY tweeted.
