Swerve Strickland Names The ‘Main Character’ Of AEW

Swerve Strickland names the “main character” of AEW, and it’s not him.

Former AEW World Champion Swerve Strickland recently appeared on the Battleground Podcast to talk about all things wrestling, including the upcoming AEW World Championship match between Jon Moxley and “Hangman” Adam Page at All In: Texas.

“He was the right man for the job, regardless if I was going to be world champion going into All In or if it was going to be Jon Moxley,” Strickland said. “He’s always been the main character of All Elite Wrestling, which is why I came at him in the first place, you know?” [H/T WrestlingInc]

This isn’t the first time Strickland has spoken highly of Page. He previously described their feud as “the best story that All Elite Wrestling has told.” The storied rivalry culminated in a brutal Lights Out match at AEW All Out 2024.

Swerve Strickland teases huge tag team match for AEW All In: Texas

Swerve Strickland and Will Ospreay kicked off AEW Dynamite this week with a tag team match against Blake Christian and Lee Johnson. After their win, Strickland took the mic and challenged the Young Bucks to a tag team match at All In: Texas.

Ospreay upped the ante by challenging Matthew and Nicholas Jackson to put their EVP titles on the line. While the match hasn’t been confirmed at the time of this writing, all signs point to it being made official sooner rather than later.

Here’s the announced All In card:

  • Jon Moxley (c) vs. Adam Page – AEW World Championship
  • Toni Storm (c) vs. Mercedes Mone – AEW Women’s World Championship
  • Kazuchika Okada (c–Continental) vs. Kenny Omega (c–International) – AEW Unified Championship
  • Men’s Casino Gauntlet
  • Women’s Casino Gauntlet

WrestleZone will have full coverage of AEW All In: Texas as it airs on July 12.
