Kenny Omega is red with blood (and likely anger) after suffering an attack at AEW Summer Blockbuster.
Three things are certain in life: death, taxes, and blood on All Elite Wrestling programming. Former International Champion Will Ospreay was the first to bleed at AEW Summer Blockbuster this week when he took on Swerve Strickland in the opening contest. Later in the television special, current International Champion Kenny Omega coughed up blood after being attacked by his upcoming opponent, Kazuchika Okada.
The AEW Dynamite portion of Summer Blockbuster closed with a contract signing between Omega and Okada for their title match at AEW All In. Omega and Okada will be uniting their International and Continental Championships at the event, with the winner earning the new AEW Unified Championship.
While Omega and Okada initially signaled mutual respect by shaking hands, the latter eventually revealed himself to be in cahoots with the ever sneaky Don Callis. First, Okada struck Omega in the abdomen, where he previously suffered with Diverticulitis, with a baton. “The Rainmaker” then followed up with two elbow drops to the same area, the second of which caused blood to spew out of Omega’s mouth.

As Omega lay bleeding and clutching his midsection, Okada and Callis retreated through the crowd before speeding out of the venue in a car. In the moments before Okada’s second elbow drop, AEW officials and medical staff had placed “The Cleaner” on a stretcher.
