Mariah May made her WWE NXT debut last night, but her appearance was very similar to another former AEW star.
When Ricky Starks made his WWE NXT debut earlier this year, the commentators made it a point not to acknowledge him by name. He would eventually be renamed Ricky Saints. The same thing happened last night with Mariah May.
While some had remained hopeful that it was just a coincidence, a new report suggests that where there’s smoke, there’s fire.
According to Fightful’s Sean Ross Sapp, people that he’s spoken to have suggested to him that May will be getting an altered name in WWE. However, what that name will be is unknown at this time.
It’s very odd how WWE chooses to change the names of some stars but not others. Especially changing those with national television exposure.
