AEW Collision Results:
This week’s episode of AEW Collision kicks off with Megan Bayne taking on Anna Jay.
Megan Bayne (w/ Penelope Ford) vs. Anna Jay (w/ Harley Cameron)
- The finish of the match saw Megan Bayne hit Anna Jay with Fate’s Descent to score the pinfall victory.
Winner: Megan Bayne
Grade: B
It was a good match, but relatively short. It didn’t get a chance to get out of another gear, which hurt the match overall. There was nothing bad, but it wasn’t given the time it needed to be something more.
Nigel McGuinness confirms he’ll return to the ring at Double or Nothing
At the commentary table, Nigel McGuinness says he believes if he doesn’t step into the ring and settle things with FTR, this thing between them is never going to end. McGuinness accepts Daniel Garcia’s offer to tag with him and says the match will happen next weekend at Double or Nothing.
Nigel McGuinness accepts FTR’s challenge for a match at #AEWDoN, where he'd team with Daniel Garcia!

Kyle Fletcher (w/ Don Callis) vs. AR Fox
- The finish of the match saw Kyle Fletcher hit AR Fox with the sheer drop brainbuster to score the pinfall victory.
Winner: Kyle Fletcher
Grade: A-
This match was great. They gave this match more time than the opener, and both men really shined in this match. I don’t think Fletcher has had a bad match this year, and that doesn’t look to be changing anytime soon. Fox also continues to perform at a high level every time AEW gives him the opportunity to do so.
RPG Vice and Lance Archer (w/ Don Callis) vs. Brody King, Tomohiro Ishii, and Bandido
- The finish of the match saw Brody King hit Rocky Romero with a corner cannonball to score the pinfall victory for his team.
Winners: Brody King, Tomohiro Ishii, and Bandido
After the match, the Don Callis Family attack their opponents until The Outrunners hit the ring to save the day.
Grade: B
The match was fine. Just your basic six-man tag. Happy to see Brody King pick up a win, but the match didn’t wow me.
When is Adam Cole going to defend the TNT Title again?
Paragon is backstage with Lexy Nair. Adam Cole says he wants to defend the TNT Championship against all comers. They are approached by the Grizzled Young Veterans, who tell them that they’ve gone soft. A match between GYV and Paragon is made for next week with Cole on commentary. I’m starting to wonder if Cole is injured again because he hasn’t defended the title since that match against Claudio Castagnoli several weeks ago.
The Grizzled Young Veterans confront Paragon and issue a challenge for NEXT WEEK!

Blake Christian (w/ Lee Johnson) vs. Speedball Mike Bailey
- The finish of the match saw Speedball Mike Bailey hit Blake Christian with Time Adventure to score the pinfall victory.
Winner: Speedball Mike Bailey
After the match, Bailey calls out Kazuchika Okada. Okada comes out on the stage and calls him a bitch. Before anything else can happen, Dralistico and RUSH attack Bailey from behind. Okada pouts and walks away.
Grade: B+
Fun match that I would have liked to see go longer. I think they are putting too many matches on Collision, and by doing that, some matches aren’t getting enough time to really shine. Which is kind of a bummer. Hopefully, they get the current format figured out.
Is Gabe Kidd a Death Rider?
We get a vignette from Jon Moxley and the Death Riders. Moxley accepts the challenge for Anarchy in the Arena and says Gabe Kidd works for him now because he’s a professional.
Chicago Street Fight: Big Bill and Bryan Keith vs. Gates of Agony
- The finish of the match saw Big Bill hit Bishop Kaun with a chokeslam to score the pinfall victory for his team.
Winners: Big Bill and Bryan Keith
Grade: B+
This was a fun street fight. It’s amazing how much better Bill and Keith are when they aren’t saddled down by Chris Jericho’s presence. I feel both teams really looked good here. The AEW tag division really needs to get stronger, and this was a step in the right direction.
We get a video package hyping up the match between Mina Shirakawa and Toni Storm at Double or Nothing.
"Toni is timeless… but Mina is now."

A tribute to Steve “Mongo” McMichael
On the stage, Tony Schiavone is on the stage with McMichael’s wife, Misty, and Dean Malenko. Schiavone runs down all of McMichael’s accomplishments before bringing out Ric Flair. Flair says Chicago is one of the best wrestling towns in the world. Flair puts over McMichael’s fight over the past six years. Ric puts over his wife and says she never left his side and learned how to be a nurse. Flair thanks the fans for their Mongo chants. A very classy segment.
Tonight, we pay tribute to pro wrestler + Pro Football Hall of Fame member, Steve “Mongo” McMichael, alongside his wife Misty, @RicFlairNatrBoy, @TonySchiavone24 and Dean Malenko. pic.twitter.com/0djcI6SkvI

I’m sorry for the inconvenience to all of you great fans!
We’ll have the complete show up on @StreamOnMax +
in its entirety on @TNTdrama West
8pm PT/9pm MT/10pm CT/11pm ET
tonight!
And we’re back!
The rest of tonight’s coverage of Collision comes to us thanks to the Triller stream on AEW Plus. Had they started on time, we wouldn’t even have had a hiccup tonight. But I digress…
AEW World Tag Title Contenders’ Match: Dustin Rhodes and Sammy Guevara vs. CRU
- The finish of the match saw Sammy Guevara hit Action Andretti with the GTH to score the pinfall victory for his team.
Winners: Dustin Rhodes and Sammy Guevara
Rhodes and Guevara will now challenge The Hurt Syndicate for the AEW World Tag Team Titles at Double or Nothing next weekend.
Grade: B+
Fun match. I don’t think the winners were ever in doubt. I’m hoping they do some kind of tag team unification match at Double or Nothing; this company really doesn’t need two sets of male tag titles right now.
Willow Nightingale still hasn’t forgiven Kris Statlander
Kris Statlander is backstage with Lexy Nair. Statlander calls to Willow Nightingale, who’s offscreen apparently. Nightingale comes in, and Statlander tries to apologize for what happened last week in their match with Marina Shafir got involved. Nightingale didn’t want to hear it. The two argued back and forth before going their separate ways.
Wheeler Yuta vs. Powerhouse Hobbs
- The finish of the match saw Powerhouse Hobbs hit Wheeler Yuta with a Spinebuster to score the pinfall victory.
Winner: Powerhouse Hobbs
Grade: B+
After the match, Marina Shafir attacks Hobbs’ injured knee, but Willow Nightingale hits the ring and gives Shafir a Spinebuster. Yuta tries to attack Nightingale, and she slaps him. Hobbs hits him as well. Willow tries to hit the Babe with the Powerbomb on Yuta, but Shafir pulls him out of the ring. You can see Kris Statlander watching this all happen from an entrance tunnel as AEW Collision goes off the air.
AEW Collision Review:
Soooo, this was an interesting evening. The long delay in being able to see the last 30 minutes of the show wasn’t great, but I won’t hold that against the show itself. Overall, the show was fine. No real complaints except for the length of a couple of the matches.
Tonight certainly wasn’t a must-see show. If you missed it, you’re perfectly okay heading into Double or Nothing. You’d be able to quickly catch up just by watching Dynamite. I’m hopeful that as 2025 continues on Collision will become more of a must-see show for AEW instead of a skippable one.
Grade: B
