Saraya Second-Guessed Return To Wrestling After Negative Response To AEW Debut Promo

Saraya‘s first promo with All Elite Wrestling didn’t go as she had hoped, and she heard about it online afterward.

Former WWE and AEW star Saraya was a recent guest on One-on-One with Andro Mammo. While discussing her return to professional wrestling, Saraya reflected on her first promo with All Elite Wrestling and the negative response online that came with that.

“I couldn’t believe I was ever gonna wrestle again,” Saraya admitted. “So it was a miracle, but this is where it goes to the online fans again, because the first initial — I came out, and I was like, yes! This is amazing. And then the week after, I did a promo, which wasn’t very good, and I know it wasn’t. I just got in my head.

“I got a lot of nerves and stuff like that, and a lot of anxiety. Earlier in the interview, I’m like tripping over my words a little bit, and so, yeah, I had a lot of anxiety, and I didn’t do a good job, and then they completely tore me apart online. It made me think I made a mistake coming back, and I was like, what have I done?”

When asked how she overcame that, Saraya admitted it took time and deleting social media from her phone, accusing AEW fans of being unforgiving when someone makes a mistake on TV.

“Time. Deleting social media, just getting reps in and stuff like that,” Saray said. “Again, deleting social media because I did not want to listen to what they were saying, because they can be cruel. The AEW fans, especially anyone that comes over to there, like, holy crap, they’re unforgiving. It’s crazy. So I was having a rough time just dealing with that.

“But after a while, I just learned to just delete it off my phone. If I did do something, I would not look at social media for a couple of days until something else happened. It was rough, and so it kind of like dimmed my spark for a lot. And then after a while, I just started having fun and not caring what people think.”
