CM Punk made a bold statement on WWE RAW.
During a promo on the August 19 episode of WWE RAW, CM Punk discussed how fans from around the globe came to see him at Fanatics Fest NYC, and many of them gave him bracelets.
“When fans hand me bracelets that they took the time to make, maybe insignificant to other people, maybe a Taylor Swift thing, but let’s face it, I’m Taylor Swift for men.”
Punk’s statement came as he was sharing a major announcement; he revealed that he would face Drew McIntyre in a Strap Match at WWE Bash in Berlin. This will mark Punk’s second match since his return from injury. He returned to the ring at WWE SummerSlam, and McIntyre beat him. Seth Rollins’ presence at the special referee affected the outcome there, as Punk got distracted and hit him with a Go to Sleep.
CM Punk On Being Polarizing
Punk is often seen as a polarizing figure in the wrestling world. During a recent appearance on ESPN’s First Take, Punk was asked about this perception.
“I’m very polarizing for some odd reason. [Asked why] I tend to say how I feel, to a fault. I stand up for myself,” he said. “A lot of people don’t like that. There’s always friction. I will be as polite and as kind to anybody as I possibly can. When they step out of line, I’m kind of the guy who checks them.”
