CM Punk says he’ll be done with Drew McIntyre after WWE SummerSlam. From there, he intends to focus on bigger and better things.
CM Punk has been feuding with McIntyre since January. Though he has been out of action due to a torn triceps, he has made McIntyre’s life miserable. They will finally clash at WWE SummerSlam.
Speaking on ESPN’s First Take, CM Punk was asked whether SummerSlam would be the end of his feud with McIntyre.
“I’m done with Drew after Saturday. Yeah, I can put him in my rearview mirror, and I can focus on bigger and better things,” Punk said. “This is about me coming back to WWE. This is about the fans. Drew injured me and gloated about it. Now, I gotta teach him a lesson. I get to beat the crap out of him on live television. That’s kind of exciting.”
CM Punk On What’s Next
CM Punk was later directly asked to comment on what would come after WWE SummerSlam. He noted that he did not know. But he highlighted the depth of talent on the roster.
“That I don’t know,” he said. “There’s an embarrassment of riches of talent in WWE now, there’s people that I have stories with that we could revisit. There’s people that I’ve never shared a ring with. I’m excited to do all those things.”
