Tommy Dreamer: TNA Is Like Wrestling’s Greatest Secret, We’re On A Great Stride Because Of A Team Effort

Tommy Dreamer assesses the current state of TNA Wrestling.

In the first half of 2024, TNA Wrestling has undergone several managerial changes, including the dismissal of former TNA President Scott D’Amore. At the same time, TNA also revived its partnership with WWE, which has now boasted a number of crossover appearances.

During a recent interview with WrestlingNewsCo, TNA producer Tommy Dreamer spoke about the present-day TNA product, explaining why fans should be tuning into it.

“If you look at the crossover we’re doing with NXT, it’s proving that it works. I say we’re kind of the wrestling world’s greatest secret,” Dreamer said. “We watch wrestling differently now. It’s not just you got to sit there and watch the program. You watch it through social media, you watch through clips [on] Facebook, YouTube. This company’s been around a long, long time. It’s been on a great stride because of a team effort. There’s been a great additions with Nic Nemeth, Matt and Jeff Hardy. They come in as surprises and you’re like ‘What am I like witnessing?’ It’s great wrestling moments.

“For me, if I can give back from my experiences from that thing called ECW, because if it’s myself Rhino, Bully Ray, when we walk out there, they still chant it. They still chant it because we made everything magical. In TNA, lately, it’s been a great team effort.”

In further assessing the current TNA roster, Dreamer highlighted one of its emerging stars, Joe Hendry, who has driven impressive social media numbers for both WWE and TNA in recent weeks. Hendry is also a former TNA Digital Media Champion.

“Joe Hendry got himself over with his music,” Dreamer said. “Then the machine also gets behind him for his wrestling and how he is presented to the point where Joe Hendry steps on NXT, and it becomes the number one video in the WWE, which is bigger than The Rock’s return, bigger than CM Punk, bigger than Cody Rhodes.”
