Jordynne Grace discusses TNA’s recent executive shake-up.
In February 2024, TNA Wrestling announced that President Scott D’Amore had been let go from his position, with Anthony Cicione subsequently taking his place. In the months following, reports indicated that more TNA executives had exited the company, including Anthem Sports Group Marketing VP Lou D’Angeli, Creative Director David Sahadi, and RD Evans, who served as the head of TNA creative.
During a recent interview with Gigantic Pop, TNA Knockouts Champion Jordynne Grace opened up about these backstage changes.
“With wrestling, it’s an engine that keeps on going no matter what,” Grace said. Obviously those people are missed, but luckily, Scott [D’Amore] was absolutely an amazing, selfless person. He loved the company, and I really feel like the new TNA management is the same way. It’s been a pretty smooth transition and it’s really good to have new eyes on the product and new ideas and stuff.”
“I hate that Scott’s gone. I wish he could be here while this is happening, but it’s good to have an outside person come in and kind of look at it from a standpoint of they really don’t know a lot about wrestling but they’re learning about it and they know a lot about business, if that makes sense.”
Under new management, TNA has reignited its partnership with WWE, beginning with Grace’s surprise challenge to NXT Women’s Champion Roxanne Perez. Since then, the likes of Joe Hendry, Frankie Kazarian, NXT’s Tatum Paxley and NXT’s Charlie Dempsey have also passed through forbidden door.
