Killer Kelly returns to IMPACT. Mia Yim earns a shot at the Knockouts Championship. Liv Morgan defends against Ronda Rousey at SummerSlam, and more! Let’s break it down in this week’s edition of Women’s Wrestling Wrap-Up!
Killer Kelly Is Coming To IMPACT, Mia Yim Earns Knockouts Championship Title Shot
Last week on IMPACT Wrestling, a vignette aired to set the stage for the return of Killer Kelly. The teaser included Kelly heading to a motel at night, saying the following:
“I love to roam, alone. Stay in the dirty motel. The smell of the dirty motel. It comforts me. It reminds me of that place….It’s only after we’ve lost everything, that we are free to do anything. And I mean, anything.”
The vignette ended with Kelly stepping into the room shower before the words “Killer Kelly. Coming Soon” flashed on the screen.

Killer Kelly last appeared in IMPACT in November 2020 alongside Renee Michelle. There, the duo competed in The Knockouts Tag Team Championship Tournament before being elimination in the first round. Additionally, Kelly competed in the 2018 Mae Young Classic before joining the WWE NXT UK roster. Last October, she took a hiatus from the ring to take care of her health and a broken nose.
Now, Killer Kelly is back.

Also on the July 7th edition of IMPACT Wrestling, Deonna Purrazzo and Mia Yim battled in the main event. “The Virtuosa” and “The HBIC” collided in an epic number one contender’s match for the Knockouts Championship. The winner would then receive a title opportunity against champion Jordynne Grace at IMPACT Emergence on August 12th.
With a trade of moves like the Queen’s Gambit and Code Blue, Purrazzo and Yim brought out all the stops in this instant classic. In the end, Mia Yim hit a second Eat Defeat to put away “The Virtuosa”. Now, Yim goes on to face Knockouts Champion Jordynne Grace next month in Chicago.
IMPACT Wrestling released the following statement on the upcoming Knockouts title match:
At Against All Odds, Jordynne Grace remained at the top of the mountain when she defeated former Knockouts World Champion Tasha Steelz one-on-one. But just days later on IMPACT!, Thicc Mama Pump’s next challenger was revealed as Mia Yim defeated Deonna Purrazzo in an epic #1 Contenders main event. After the match, Grace shook hands with “The HBIC” as a sign of respect heading into their monumental title showdown. Mia Yim has made it no secret since returning to IMPACT Wrestling that she has her sights set on recapturing the gold she once held. But if there’s one thing we known about Jordynne Grace, it’s that she won’t go down with a fight. Grace vs Yim, only one can leave Chicago with the Knockouts World Title around their waist!
Who will conquer all obstacles and emerge victorious? Find out when IMPACT Wrestling presents Emergence LIVE August 12th on IMPACT Plus and YouTube for IMPACT Ultimate Insiders from Cicero Stadium in Chicago, IL! Tickets are on-sale now at Eventbrite.com.

Liv Morgan’s First Title Defense Slated For SummerSlam
After cashing in her Money in the Bank briefcase to become the new Smackdown Women’s Champion, Liv Morgan now awaits her first title defense.
Last week on Friday Night Smackdown, Morgan returned to the blue brand as its respective champion. There, she was met by Natalya, who declared that Morgan wouldn’t be champion if she hadn’t worn down Rousey at Money in the Bank. Ronda Rousey then emerged, assuming her championship rematch clause. Therefore, Liv Morgan will defend her Smackdown Women’s Championship against Rousey at SummerSlam on July 30th.
It is official!

WWE issued the following statement:
At SummerSlam, Ronda Rousey will look to dethrone new SmackDown Women’s Champion Liv Morgan in what promises to be a slugfest!
There are few competitors as devastating as The Baddest Woman on the Planet. The former Raw Women’s Champion reemerged after taking time off to become a mom, and it wasn’t long before she made Charlotte Flair scream “I Quit!” to claim the SmackDown Women’s Title. As the fans took in the start of her reign, it seemed unlikely that anyone else would be holding the title for a long time.
That all changed in one fateful night on July 2, however, when the determined Morgan rose above the competition to win the Money in the Bank Ladder Match and seize the contract for a championship opportunity.
Later that night, Morgan emerged just moments after Rousey’s epic title retention over Natalya and cashed in on The Rowdy One. After getting trapped in Rousey’s debilitating ankle lock for several edge-of-your-seat seconds, Liv suddenly kicked herself free and rolled up Rousey to secure the three-count and her first championship!
Can Liv defeat Rousey when she is at full strength? Find out at SummerSlam, streaming LIVE on Saturday, July 30, at 8 ET/5 PT on Peacock in the United States and on WWE Network everywhere else.
