IMPACT Wrestling Results – July 7, 2022

This week’s show kicks off with a video highlighting Against All Odds from last Friday. Heath, America’s Most Wanted, and Good Brothers got their revenge on Honor No More, and Josh Alexander retained against Joe Doering.

X-Division Championship Match: Mike Bailey (c) vs. Alan Angels

Former AEW star comes out to a pop to answer Speedball’s open challenge. They open with a handshake, but Angels slaps Speedball. Their fast paced action spills out of the ring within minutes. Angels showcased some of his “best hits,” but Bailey managed to land Ultima Weapon on the back of Angels for the three-count.

Winner: Mike Bailey

After, they shake hands and show mutual respect until VBD’s Deaner and Doering hit the ring to take both men out. They get on the mic and say it’s not over until they say it’s over. Eric Young makes his way out for the first time since Slammiversary. EY says this was not what they collectively decided. Deaner said they thought Joe could accomplish the mission, but EY reminds us Joe was undefeated under his watch. EEY says he’s going to prove this world belongs to him.

Backstage, Honor No More have a pep talk, however they tell PCO he needs to be victorious tonight.

Deonna Purrazzo and Chelsea Green are interviewed backstage. Deonna is confident and they go to walk off when Gail Kim walks up. She announces Green vs. Mickie James for next week. Deonna and Chelsea are banned from ringside for each other’s matches.

Laredo Kid vs. Trey Miguel

Miguel’s injured left leg is a heavy focus in the match following his title clash with Speedball last week. Laredo Kid takes advantage when he can, but Miguel manages to land signature high flying spots like a moonsault out of the ring. The back and forth continued for a number of minutes until Miguel hit a Crossrhodes for the victory.

Winner: Trey Miguel

Over the next few weeks, we’ll see “Ric Flair moment of the week” flashbacks ahead of his final match ever. We see clips of Flair’s TNA debut.

Backstage, Deaner and Doering ambush the interview set looking for Josh Alexander before attacking Motor City Machine Guns.

A vignette airs for Killer Kelly “coming soon.”

James Storm and Chris Harris are interviewed. Harris shares how happy he was, while Storm is asked about what’s next for him. He leaves the set and finds Steve Maclin. They share words before Storm says he’ll see Maclin next week.

PCO vs. Black Taurus

PCO launches Taurus out of the ring twice in a row before flying through the ropes himself and into the barricade while wiping Taurus out. PCO lands his front flip on the apron spot for a big pop, however Taurus reaches the bottom rope with his foot. PCO goes up top and lands the PCOsault for the three-count.

Winner: PCO

Honor No More make their way out to congratulate PCO. Crazzy Steve taunts the group until Heath makes a run in to attack Kenny King. Heath retreats through the crowd while yelling. Backstage, Bullet Club is watching what just unfolded. Good Brothers say HNM aren’t good at finishing fights. Chris Bey chimes in and says Bullet Club are just the opposite of HNM. Ace Austin says they are starving for action. An 8-man tag is set up for next week.

Digital Media Champion Brian Myers walks up on Swinger’s Dungeon. Myers warns Swinger about Zicky Dice before encountering Bhupinder Gujarr. Swinger vs. Gujarr is teased while both have their sights set up the Digital Media title.

Shera vs. Rich Swann

Shera uses his size and power to his advantage in the first act. Swann dodges a splash in the corner, allowing him to gain some momentum with a 619 on Shera and a flip out of the ring onto Singh. Swann lands a few kicks to the head and then a 450 splash for the win.

Winner: Rich Swann

Backstage, Tenille asks Gisele about the photo that Masha gave Tenille. Gisele saws it means Masha will kill Tenille. Tenille and Madison both yell at Gisele before leaving angrily.

Elsewhere, Taya asks Rosemary why she’s so upset. They may still be champions, but Rosemary wonders where Havok is. Rosemary says she’ll have to go to the Undead Realm herself. Taya says they’ll both go, but Rosemary resits. Taya insists and Rosemary agrees they’ll go next week.

#1 Contender’s Match: Deonna Purrazzo vs. Mia Yim

They start by one-upping each other with a tie up, brief holds, and shoving. Yim flies to the outside to take Deonna down. Back in the ring, Yim shows off with a head scissors takedown and bowing to mock Deonna. The Virtuosa comes back by snapping Mia’s left arm. Yim fires up with a series of dropkicks and cannonball into the corner, two count.

Yim hits Eat Defeat, but Deonna rolls out to the apron. Deonna gets out of the package piledriver and boots Mia in the face, nearfall. Deonna runs into the post shoulder-first when Yim moves. Mia hits Code Blue, nearfall. They trade a series of chops and forearms in the middle of the ring. Purrazzo floats over into an attempted arm bar, but Yim rolls Deonna up. Queen’s Gambit is hit, but Mia kicks out. Mia lifts Deonna up, hits a powerbomb and the package piledriver, two-count!

Deonna slaps Mia across the face. Mia unloads with a fury of kicks to the face. She hits the package piledriver and a final Eat Defeat to seal the deal.

Winner: Mia Yim

Post-match, Knockouts World Champion Jordynne Grace comes out to congratulate Yim as the two will face each other at Emergence.
