The XFL seems to have things figured out heading into its inaugural season in 2020. As opposed to rival league the Alliance of American Football (AAF), who recently went bankrupt. According to XFL league commissioner Oliver Luck, via Pro Football Talk, the XFL has “two very powerful media companies” and the league will air two games a week on over-the-air network television.
They will also broadcast two games a week on major cable channels. As of this writing, there is no news on what channels those might be. Regardless, that already sounds like a more structured deal than the AAF had in place. The AAF broadcasted their games on various networks; such as CBS, NFL Network, CBS Sports Network, TNT, and the BR Live service.
With so many different outlets, finding games became hard. Luck doubled down on the XFL’s confidence in their business plan:
“We believe we’re well on our way to a successful launch in February of 2020. We’ve got a great business plan,” Luck said.
