The wrestling world was abuzz Labor Day weekend as All In surpassed expectations and launched The Elite into the upper stratosphere without the backing of WWE.

The sports entertainment had to be watching and, with football season looming and eyes looking elsewhere for their wrestling fix, had to be planning a big week, right?

So, they had the entire locker room attack The Shield. What? Why? Seriously? That makes no sense. A chance to make buzz and the audience is left immediately scratching their head.

The shows weren’t dreadful, they had some interesting moments, but everything was overshadowed by two megastars in their 50s stealing the show and creating some “what if” buzz.

Shawn Michaels is always a money promo and worth tuning in for, but when Undertaker made a fantastic surprise visit, the two of them seemed as if they have never missed a beat. They woke up a RAW crowd that was a little confused by Dolph Ziggler and Drew McIntyre randomly winning the tag titles and Drake Maverick randomly showing up with Authors of Pain.

Seriously, what the hell is going on? Are the writers completely just throwing stuff at the wall?

Oh yeah, Bobby Roode and Chad Gable are a tag team now also.

Even an appearance from Ronda Rousey could not save the show, so HBK and The Phenom desperately needed to deliver … and they did.

Any inclination that the Showstopper might be willing to step into the ring again is worth the price of admission. It was a fun tease. It made it clear whom he would be be in the ring with, and maybe it leads to a retirement match for the Dead Man.

The Blue Brand stayed in its lane a little more, but really did not advance anything.
