As noted, The Hardys were not on WWE Raw this week, a decision that was made after Scott Dawson went down with injury. The original plan in WWE was for The Hardys to face The Revival at WWE SummerSlam, but with Dawson’s injury, the bout has been scrapped, and PPV plans for The Hardys remain in limbo.
The match in which Dawson suffered the injury took place last weekend at the WWE live event in Halifax, Nova Scotia, and it was against Cesaro and Sheamus. According to The Wrestling Observer, The bout featured all heels as a result of Jeff Hardy’s inability to travel into Canada due to past felony convictions, as original live event plans called for The Revival vs The Hardys. WWE was working on clearing Jeff to enter Canada, however they were unable to do so in time for the live events, and went with the all heel tag team match instead.
The Observer is adding WWE had plans for Matt Hardy to appear on WWE Raw this week in Toronto by himself, and shoot an angle with The Revival, but when the injury took place forcing match plans to be scrapped, WWE decided against Matt appearing on Raw at all.
Border crossing issues have been an issue for Jeff Hardy due to being convicted on felony drug charges, including a drug trafficking charge in 2009.
