While we’re still looking for details on exactly what happened, UK wrestling star Mark Andrews suffered an injury at Sunday’s NXT live event at the Download Festival in Derby, England. The former PROGRESS Champion was apparently stretchered out of the building after being tended to by WWE medics on the scene.
WWE has issued an official statement confirming that a “CT scan of Andrews came back negative, with just bruising evident”. Thankfully, the 25-year-old star took to Twitter this evening, thanking fans for their concerns and support, so it looks like he’s going to be fine. PROGRESS co-owner Glen Joseph also confirmed that there was “no real damage” found by scans.
Scans have come back with no real damage, just some bruising. Thank you to the @wwe officials for looking after @MandrewsJunior so well.
