Ring of Honor matchmaker Nigel McGuinness has resigned from his position and will be leaving the company, according to an official statement sent out Sunday night.
McGuiness returned to ROH in 2011 after a run with TNA where he worked a retirement tour before becoming a commentator for the promotion, and eventually being named the on-screen matchmaker. As recently as this month’s Final Battle pay-per-view, he would occasionally return to the commentary position for main event matches on major shows alongside Kevin Kelly and Steve Corino, who has also announced his departure from the company.
