As we noted last week, Forbes released a report claiming sources inside WWE informed them the company has “not completely shut the door” on a Daniel Bryan in-ring return.
According to The Wrestling Observer, the Forbes article is incorrect, and as we noted yesterday Sports Illustrated’s Extra Mustard is corroborating that WWE has no plans at this time to bring Daniel Bryan back to the ring, partially due to the multi-million dollar concussion lawsuit in which WWE is currently embroiled.
Bryan appeared on ESPN’s WWE Off the Top Rope segment last night, which you can watch below, and during the appearance he discussed his desire to return to the ring, as he says he feels completely healthy. He added on many occasions he has threatened to quit WWE and return to wrestling elsewhere, but his wife Brie Bella clams him down and reminds him they are trying to start a family.
In related news, The Wrestling Observer added Daniel Bryan’s current WWE contract expires in 2018, and while Bryan’s contract was previously “frozen” when he was out with injury, now that he is regularly appearing on TV his contract is no longer frozen.
