As Bálor walks up the ramp, Rollins walks out laughing. Rollins gets in the ring and says everyone should turn their frowns upside down. This should be a celebration so they can crown the real winner from last night. Sami Zayn’s music hits and he joins Foley, Stephanie, and Rollins in the ring. Chris Jericho walks out next. Jericho goes straight to Stephanie and starts to beg. Kevin Owens joins the fray. In a surprising turn of events, Enzo and Cass come to the ring. Much to the crowd’s chagrin, Roman Reigns also comes to the ring.
Foley says everyone in the ring is deserving of a shot. There will be a series of matches starting tonight. The series will end next week to crown a new champion. The first match will be Rollins vs Zayn. Rollins attacks Zayn from behind.
WWE Universal Title Tournament: Seth Rollins vs Sami Zayn
After a short break, Zayn is wearing Rollins out with chop after chop. Zayn takes Rollins over with a flying head scissors. Before Zayn can dive over the top with a topé, but Rollins moves out of the way. Rollins pulls Zayn under the bottom rope and tries to powerbomb him into the barricade (the move that injured Bálor), but Zayn fights out of it. Zayn moonsault off the barricade onto Rollins. Zayn tosses Rollins back into the ring. Rollins surprises Zayn with a leaping side kick to the face. Rollins whips Zayn into the ropes, but Zayn springboards over Rollins. When Zayn lands on the mat his knee buckles and he collapses to the mat. Rollins tries to attack Zayn, but the referee pushes him away. Rollins tries again, but Zayn pulls down the top rope, which causes Rollins to fall to the outside. Zayn sentons over the top rope onto Rollins but as soon as he lands he clutches his ankle. Rollins rolls Zayn back into the ring. Rollins hits a springboard knee to Zayn’s head.
