During a recent appearance on Russillo and Kanell on ESPN Radio, CM Punk commented on Daniel Bryan’s retirement due to injury, and the chance we would ever see Punk return to wrestling.
In regards to Bryan, Punk said:
“Even if I hate a guy, I’d hate to see him get hurt, but I love the guy and it’s a bum way to go out, but living is more important than silly pro wrestling, and I’m glad he’s alive and it sucks that he can’t do what he wants to do, but he’ll find something else to do; the smart ones always do.”
CM Punk also commented on if we would ever see him in professional wrestling again, and said he wouldn’t return to WWE, but shared the only way he might return to a wrestling ring:
“No. I don’t think so. But it is one of those ‘never say never’ things. I just like to cover all of my bases, just so some internet dweeb isn’t going to be like ‘you said you’d never wrestle again!”… with WWE? No. Absolutely not. But you never know, I could pop up here and there.
Let me explain this to you even better; it’s not going to be televised. It’s going to be me in a ninja outfit, wrestling one of my buddies and nobody’s ever going to know. It’s going to be very ‘Monty Python’, so to speak.”
