On what led to his WWE release:
DP: They were just cutting costs and I was a part of it. There were many guys released that day so it’s not like it was just me. I’ve been off the road for over a year, almost a year and a half, so I’d be dumb to say I didn’t see it coming at some point. To see it coming and to have it happen are two completely different things.
On if he was getting any signals that his WWE release could be coming:
DP: No, not one bit. Like I said, I wasn’t on the road. I wasn’t used in over a year and a half. All signs pointed to it. At some point.
On if he has talked with any of the other talent that was recently released:
DP: I haven’t. It’s finally just… decompressing? I guess that’s what you would call it. It’s finally happening. The compression is finally settling. I’m finally decompressed and I’ll reach out to a few of them I am sure. Hell, I would love to work with El Torito somewhere and somehow on the indies or down in Mexico. Something like that. Rehash that opportunity since we had so much fun together.
