Steve Austin Talks to Chael Sonnen About Dana White’s “Fake” Wrestling Remark
On the latest edition of The Steve Austin Show, Austin and Global Force Wrestling announcer Chael Sonnen discussed the possibility of Sonnen returning to MMA once his NAC suspension is up, and Austin had the following to say about MMA possibly conflicting with Sonnen’s pro wrestling involvement.
“I don’t think they conflict. But Dana [White] just put himself …you know, he said wrestling is fake. He put a couple of tweets out there. I thought it was just his version of saying [wrestling] is a “work”.
I don’t take it that he’s a big fan of pro wrestling so to me maybe because he’s the guy that runs the UFC with the Fertitta brothers that, you know, maybe in his mind those two worlds don’t mix, or they mix like oil and water. That being said, one of the biggest stars in his company — Ronda Rousey — is a huge fan of pro wrestling, and she even participated in an event not too long ago, so it’ll be interesting to see how you play those cards.”
In related news, WrestleMania celebrities Ronda Rousey and Floyd Mayweather continue to trade insults, as Rousey recently had the following to say to TMZ.com after Mayweather told Rousey to “call [me] when [she] makes $300 million in a night.”
“I actually did the math and given the numbers of my last fight, I’m actually the highest paid UFC fighter and I’m a woman. I think I actually make 2-3 times more than he does per second. When he learns to read and write, he can text me,” Rousey said.
Mayweather responded via TMZ Sports with the following:
“Last time I checked I was #1 on Forbes. She will never be at my status. Keep trying to get publicity.”
