Neville & Cesaro vs. Kevin Owens & Seth Rollins
WWE seems really high on tag team matches that don’t involve the Tag Team Championships for some reason these days. Five non-title tag matches booked for SummerSlam, and the least important of them is the Fatal 4-way for the WWE Tag Team Championship. Certainly and odd note to be aware of.
Cesaro and Rollins start this one off with Cesaro getting the early upper hand by catching Seth on a cross-body attempt and turning it into a Stalling Suplex. Neville hits a Dropkick to Owens as Cesaro is coming down with the Suplex and follows it up with a Standing Shooting Star Press on Seth that forces both Rollins and Owens to the outside!
Returning from commercial, we find Rollins & Owens in firm control of the match as they cut the ring in half on Neville. They taunt Cesaro to goad him into getting involved. While the referee’s back is turned, Owens hits a cheap shot and his patented Cannonball in the corner. Once Owens finally misses a move, his big time Senton…Neville almost is able to tag in while Owens tags in Rollins. Seth prevents the inevitable for a minute or so before Neville does several backflips to land in his corner and tag in Cesaro. The Swiss Superman delivers uppercuts everywhere before hoisting Rollins well above his head and tossing him over the top rope and into Owens! Cesaro then uses his miraculous talent to hit an insane Barrel-Roll Splash to the outside as Neville flies over and takes out Owens.
Cesaro is able to hit a Flying Cross-Body back into the ring on Rollins and earn himself a two-count. Owens gets back into the fray and takes out Cesaro. This opens up Cesaro to a nasty Powerbomb in the Turnbuckle and a Pedigree that Cesaro is able to reverse miraculously into the Sharpshooter. He drags Rollins into the ring, but Owens gets involved and gives just enough time for Rollins to get the roll-up victory via pulling Cesaro’s tights!
Winners – Seth Rollins & Kevin Owens
Cesaro stands up for himself and slams Owens to the mat with authority (trademark Gorilla Monsoon circa 1987) so they can end the show on a high note by standing tall over the top heels in the company.
