Last night’s edition of WWE Smackdown, which was a live special due to Raw begin canceled this week, took in 2.952 million viewers for Syfy.
Smackdown is in its third week on Thursday nights, and has seen growth in viewership each week. Last night’s number is up from last week’s 2.815 million viewers, and is a 5% increase for the show.
The debut episode of Smackdown on Thursday nights took in 2.675 million viewers, and this week’s show was once again number one on cable.
Paglino: WWE Smackdown has been much better from a creative stand point since the show moved to Thursday nights, but I think this week’s viewership might be a bit of an anomaly.
This week’s show was live, and a big main event was announced which no one knew the results of heading into the show, so I think Smackdown benefitted greatly in that regard.
