Mark Andrews was announced tonight as the winner of TNA British Boot Camp season two. The final episode features all three remaining contestants – Andrews, Rampage Brown and Kay Lee Ray – in singles action against DJ Zema Ion, Bram and Gail Kim, respectively.
The final segment took place at TNA President Dixie Carter’s house in Nashville, TN. She questioned whether they were ready to compete at the TNA level, and eventually announced the winner of season two. Andrews is now officially a new member of the TNA Wrestling roster, and has changed his Twitter handle to @MAndrewsTNA.
I’ve had Mark Andrews described to me as the “Draco Malfoy of the British wrestling scene”, and he definitely has the look about him. He is a 22-year-old from Wales, and uses a variety of high flying moves and quick throws; in particular the Shooting Star Press, the top rope moonsault and a nice snap Dragon Suplex. He’s a smaller wrestler, even by X-Division standards, but then again so was Rockstar Spud and he won the first season of British Boot Camp and has found a place for himself on Impact Wrestling every week.
Featured below is a match between Andrews and Rich Swann, another fantastic indie wrestler from the U.S., from March 2014. The production isn’t especially great, but it shows off some of the moves and skills that the new TNA acquisition can bring to the ring.
