SpikeTV President Issues Statement on TNA Leaving the Network, When Will the Last TNA Broadcast Air on Spike?

spiketv SpikeTV President Kevin Kay has issued the following statement regarding TNA’s departure from the network:

Our partnership with TNA Wrestling will officially come to an end with our last telecast on December 24.

Dixie Carter and her team have been incredible partners to work with over the past 9 years, delivering high-action entertainment and strong ratings.

As Spike continues to evolve into a network reaching a broader audience, we continue to look across our schedule to find opportunities to add original scripted and non-scripted programming that appeals to a wider demographic.

On behalf of everyone at Spike, we would like to wish Dixie and TNA all the best and continued success.

Paglino: It’s worth noting Kay did not specify what the final TNA broadcast will be on Spike, so the assumption should not be new episodes of Impact Wrestling.

There was previous talk of Spike airing “best of” Impact broadcasts once TNA runs out of first-run Impact content, so Kay could be referring to “best of” type of programming.

Nick was born and raised in Detroit, Michigan, and lived there until the age of 18, when he decided to pack his flack jacket and move to New York City.

Nick attended New York University and graduated in 2001 with a degree in Drama.

Nick first entered the internet wrestling community back in 2004 when he became the co-host of The Voice of Wrestling Radio Show. From there, Nick made the transition from radio personality to editor when he began working with WrestleZone in 2008.

Nick is a member of two Off-Broadway theatre companies, Another Urban Riff, and the Drama Desk Award winning Godlight Theatre Company. Nick has appeared in over a dozen Off-Broadway plays since he moved to New York City, and has shot several short and feature length films. In 2010, he completed principle photography on a film titled "How to Score Your Life," which also features TNA Knockout ODB.

Inspiration in his life has come from many people including his family, Woody Allen, Steven Spielberg, Jack Nicholson, The Beatles, and of course, Lassie.
