A huge match has been confirmed for the upcoming New Japan Pro Wrestling “Wrestle Kingdom” PPV on January 4th. Kyle O’Reilly and Bobby Fish will defend the IWGP Jr. Tag Team Championships in a 4-way elimination tag team match. The three teams competing against reDRagon will be former champions Alex Shelly and Kushida, Rocky Romero and Alex Koslov, and the Young Bucks.
The match was already scheduled for the event in Japan, but it would have aired as a dark match prior to the U.S. version of the PPV. The reason was because Ring of Honor, who already had a deal in place to cross-promote their stars at the New Japan show, does not allow their talent to appear on PPV for other companies. Jeff Jarrett recently met with ROH officials, and it’s believed part of the meeting was to work out a deal where Ring of Honor talent would be able to compete on the PPV, which is being brought to US television for the first time by Jarrett’s Global Force Wrestling brand.
