According to The Wrestling Observer, Alan Rebhun, WWE’s Vice President of Venue Merchandising and Operations, was fired following mismanagement of the concessions at WrestleMania 30.
Rebhun was released from WWE shortly after WrestleMania 30 after he hired a vending company, which previously went bankrupt twice, to handle concessions at the PPV. The concessions were said to be poorly staffed and very disorganized, and to add insult to injury there was a large sum of money missing at the end of the weekend.
Rebhun’s tenure with WWE was not all bad, however, as he was credited with increasing the t-shirt price from $25 to $30, which helped increase WWE’s per-cap merchandise numbers. Those figures have fallen since Rebhun was released.
Additionally, Rebhun was responsible for having the WWE crew travel with loads of merchandise, as opposed to pay for drop shipping of the merch at every venue. WWE has since resumed using drop shipping and the costs are said to be a ridiculous amount.
