WWE Hoping to Add Raw and Smackdown Replays to the Network
WWE CFO George Barrios, during this year's annual ROTH conference, noted that one of WWE's key factors in negotiating new TV rights is the subject of Raw and Smackdown replays.
WWE wants the ability to air replays of both Raw and Smackdown on the WWE Network, and their current deal with NBC Universal does not allow WWE to air the replays until 30 days after the original air date. With its ongoing TV rights negotiations, WWE is looking to shorten that window of time.
Who Would Replace Vince McMahon as CEO If He Were Gone?
With the ongoing rumor of the AMC Network having an interest in buying WWE, most investors do not believe Vince McMahon would ever sell his controlling interest in the company, however, there is concern regarding what would happen to WWE if something should happen to Vince.
People would obviously look to Stephanie McMahon and Paul "Triple H" Levesque as the two likely candidates to take over the WWE CEO responsibilities, however that is not necessarily as obvious a call as it might seem.
Stephanie has taken a step back lately, and Levesque might not yet be ready to handle the CEO responsibilities of a public company like WWE. While Levesque has great knowledge of pro wrestling, he lacks the expertise and experience necessary to handle the non-wrestling responsibilities of a CEO.
This would leave WWE's CFO George Barrios and WWE exec Michelle Wilson as the leading candidates to become CEO should something happen to Vince. The concern regarding Barrios is his knowledge of the modern media landscape, and the concern regarding both Barrios and Wilson is their lack of pro wrestling knowledge.
