Hi, I attended the Durham signing session that the NWO did today, and i have to say, it was very bitter/sweet for everyone that was in attendance.
So Cal Val was there as a special guest, she arrived just before 2 (the signing was advertised as 2pm-4pm), and i can't say enough good things about her, not many people went in to see her when given the chance, but she was very talkative, posed for photos and signed anything that was in front of her, she also stayed right the way through the NWO portion of the signing session!
NWO turned up over an hour late, had an extravagant entrance with fireworks that had debris spray all over us in line and, how true this is or not, the venue told us they had requested everyone wait for them outside, else they would not enter the building.
They all seemed rather humble when we were inside for our individual signing sessions, however, with them turning up so late, and having to get away early to get to their meet and greet in Manchester, everyone seemed to be rushed through.
Hall and Waltman were very friendly, popping out to the queue of waiting fans and interacting whilst Nash stayed away. Around 20 of us had paid for signed photos, only 5 actually received their photos signed as Nash apparently said they were done and were leaving, he walked straight past everyone without saying a word, while Hall and Waltman shook hands with everyone who had stayed behind, thanked us all for turning out and genuinely seemed quite pleased at the turnout. Because of Nash's walkout the venue ended up refunding £10 to everyone that had paid for a signed photo but didn't receive the autographs.
All in all it was a successful day, as everyone that was suppose to turn up, did, and those that were upset at the end, were more women with younger children that, as one person admitted, "didn't know who these guys were", we just all kind of wished we had a little more time with the wrestlers to interact with them. So Cal Val definitely won over some people that weren't there to see her, especially as she stayed till well after 5.
Nick was born and raised in Detroit, Michigan, and lived there until the age of 18, when he decided to pack his flack jacket and move to New York City.
