WWE.com has posted a new article entitled "Great Invasions", highlighting some of the best surprise incursions in company history. This article was inspired by the recent debut of NXT Superstars Dean Ambrose, Roman Reigns and the NXT World Champion, Seth Rollins. Although not technically an "invasion", the article references the Shield as "simply purveyors and protectors of justice in a WWE that has long since lost its moral compass."
Some of the groups covered in the WWE.com editorial are the Nexus – the original group lead by Wade Barrett, rather than CM Punk – the nWo, the WWE invading WCW and ECW, and more.
