Michael Cole starts talking about tonight's events when Jerry Lawler takes off his headset and enters the ring. He says RAW doesn't usually start like this, but he needs to get something off of his chest and he addresses CM Punk and what happened on RAW 1000 and last week. King says Punk took his comments out of context, and he apologized last week, but he got kicked in the back of the head. King says he apologized to Punk last week, but this week he wants Punk to apologize to him. Punk meets him in the ring and asks why the WWE Champion should apologize to him, because all he did was justifiably beat up the Rock. He says his actions were justified and King was the one who turned his back on the fans, and King is trying to make him out to be a bad guy.

Punk says he's not a bad guy, but King's lack of respect is why he kicked him in the head, but it was provoked because King pushed him on his way out. He says he can be a man and apologize, then he says he's sorry that it's so easy to get into the WWE Hall of Fame by beating no names from Memphis. Punk says King's WWE career is a joke and he couldn't win the WWE Championship, let alone beat Michael Cole at Wrestlemania. Punk says he's sorry for raising his voice, and he's sorry about the man King has become, then he backs up and asks if King is upset.

Punk asks if King wants to fight him, then he says King is a commentator and he's the best in the world, and everyone paid to King get embarrassed by him. King says he wanted an apology instead of a fight, but Punk eggs him on and says he knows King wants to see what would happen and he is up for it. Punk says King will leave embarrassed because he'll get the crap kicked out of him, or it'll be because he refused to fight, then Punk tells him to think about it. Punk leaves and yells for respect, then King tells him he will think about it before resuming his duties at the commentary table.
