Just got back from SD in Jacksonville. I haven't been to a show here since Triple H's Home invasion of Randy Orton. There were definitely more fans last time. The entire camera side was tarped off. The bleachers were tarped. I'd say the building was probably 1/2 full.
They did NXT but I don't watch that show so had no idea who any of the people were. Took me until almost the end to realize that it was losers from past NXT seasons. Started with Yoshi beating Damien Sandow. That might have been a dark match. He had good heat because he had on pink tights with purple Knee pads. Crowd was givin him hell for it. The Uso's beat Tyler Rex and Curt Hawkins. The Uso's were pretty over with the crowd. The wife was even into the Samoan war chant thing. Bateman (don't know his first name) was lookin for his fiance but found her mom. The mom came onto him but made it look like he was tryin to get with her. Darren Young JTG Percy Watson and Titus Oneal had a tag match. Don't know who was on JTG's heel team cuz I was taking a "break". Heard JTG's music, guessing his team won. Bateman beat Johnny Curtis. After, Maxine came out and gave his ring back cuz he tried to get with her mom.
Did 2 matches for superstars. Justin Gabriel beat Tyson Kidd with the 450. Jack Swagger beat Trent Baretta with the ankle lock. Crowd chanted "Angle Ripoff".
SD started. No opening, no announcement, no pyro, nothin. Booker was being introduced but got attacked by Cody Rhodes. Cody interrupted Lillian's welcome back speech and said, "who's gunna announce a fave 5 with 11 people in it? I am…..Thucka". Wade Barret came out and fought Ezekial Jackson in a beat the clock. Why beat the clock? Dunno. Barrett won with wasteland and it was announced Orton vs. Ziggler in beat the clock later in the night. Next up, AJ and Kaitlyn vs Natalya and Beth Phoenix. AJ tried to tag Kaitlyn multiple times, but Kaitlyn wouldn't reach for her hand. Natalya beat AJ with a sharp shooter. She fell on her during the submission and looked like she broke AJ's damn back. Dunno how it will look on TV, but everyone thought she was broken in half. Afterwards, Kaitlyn tells Natalya and Beth Phoenix she wants in. They huddle around AJ, but don't attack her. The 3 just walk away together.
Josh Matthews interviewed Daniel Bryan in the ring about last week's loss to Mark Henry. Cole interrupts, and bad mouth's Bryan. Daniel Bryan comes after Cole and Cody attacks him. Ted Dibiase beat Jinder Mahal. USA chants….the norm. Big Show comes out and talks about how he's gunna beat Mark Henry. Henry comes out and tells big show to not lay a hand on him. Offers his hand, and says may the best man win. Henry then attacks Show, but Show beats him down, and gives him a few chair shots outside the ring.
Sheamus beat Otunga. Hornswoggle was the guest ring announcer. Quick squash. Video game promo interrupted by the It Begins video. Crowd chanted "Y2J". Zach Ryder beat Heath Slater with the ruff Ryder. Pretty quick match also. Cody Rhodes vs Daniel Bryan. Guessing it was a DQ, cuz Booker T attacked Cody midway through the match. No spin a roony…he was too "injured". Teddy Long talks to Aksana backstage. Cody interrupts and says he wants a match with Booker T. Teddy says he'll get one at TLC for the IC belt. Don't know what Aksana was saying. I was trying to explain to my son the whole time why music plays when she comes around Teddy.
Orton beat Ziggler with 2 seconds left on the clock. Barret interfered, but Orton made the time. After, Barrett attacks Orton again, and says he gets to pick the stipulation at TLC (So that's what the clock was for!) but he'll save him the trouble. Takes him to the outside and tries to put Orton through the table. Orton gets away, Barret runs away, and Orton puts Ziggler through the table. Show goes off. Teddy comes out and says the main event is Orton vs Henry vs Show for the title. Dunno what happened. I left.
