Last week WWE Superstars, Divas, announcers, referees, and even the ring crew walked out on COO Triple H, after declaring a unanimous vote of “no confidence” in the Game's ability to lead Monday Night Raw Supershow. On the following episode of Smackdown many of these walk-outs declared their intentions NOT to return to Raw until Triple H has either stepped down, or has been removed from control of the show. In a WWE.com article this weekend, it was revealed that Christian will lead a solidarity rally (to take place before Raw) featuring all the talents that walked out, showing unity amongst the WWE's employees who are standing up for “safer working conditions”.
Yes, you read that correctly…safer working conditions. The same people that get paid hundreds of thousands of dollars annually to beat the hell out of each other over pretend grievances, are complaining that their job is too dangerous. Yes, I realize it's pro wrestling and things don't always have to have continuity or make any amount of sense, but how much more “safe” can you make the WWE? Should they ban all backstage fights and fine people $250,000 every time they attack somebody on their way to the ring? How about no weapons, ever? December's TLC pay-per-view will actually stand for “Tender Loving Care” and instead of Hell in a Cell we'll all go to hell in a hand-basket. What about a 40-man Royal foot-Race, or the brutal Elimination Cake Walk…? Can't you just see Jack Swagger in an apron with a Betty Crocker cook book? Odds are the “All American American American American Pasty Chef” will sell better than his current gimmick…
But all WWE-G jokes aside, I'm not sure how to preview an episode of Raw that has literally six talents schedules to make an appearance. CM Punk, John Cena, Sheamus, Randy Orton, and the Big Show are confirmed to be in action, along with COO Triple H. It's also likely that Kelly Kelly, Eve, and Mason Ryan will be in attendance as they failed to make an appearance at last week's no-confidence vote. But is that enough to run a whole show? It's quite likely we will see a lot of promos tonight, with a few Superstars returning after changing their minds. But who will referee the matches? Who will be on commentary? Will Booker T change his mind yet again? I think I can safely say he's one talent that can stay gone… There's probably a good chance that something will happen to allow the WWE employees to come back to work. Johnny Ace may temporarily relieve Triple H of his duties with the approval of “the board of directors”, or we may even see the return of Vince McMahon to save the show!
Regardless of what happens, a situation like this hasn't exactly occurred before in pro wrestling, and I am very intrigued to see where this all goes. They've been dragging us along and bottling things up for months, but everything needs to explode before or at Vengeance in two weeks. That explosion will be crafted into the grand finale at Survivor Series, where all the confusion and battles for power will likely come to an end. Odds are things will only get more confusing, chaotic, and convoluted as that important date draws nearer.
