The Wrestling Observer is reporting that both WWE and THQ mutually agreed to drop the "Smackdown vs Raw" name for the popular video game franchise.
As we previously reported, the decision to re-brand the video game as "WWE ’12" was made because both THQ and WWE feels that the Smackdown vs Raw name doesn’t have any real meaning anymore. With WWE’s lack of brand rivalry, the decision was made to drop the original title as well as the Bragging Rights PPV, which usually saw cross-promotion with the annual SD! vs Raw video game release.
