World Xtreme Wrestling returns to Central Florida for two shows, one on October 25 in Minneola, FL, just outside of Orlando and Kissimmee, at the Minneola Trailhead Park as a part of the Minneola Fall Fest. This is an outdoor show with a 6:00 bell time. OCTOBER 3, 1970 (SATURDAY) Notes: The âColumbus Championship Wrestlingâ program moved from WTVM Channel 9 to WRBL Channel 3 on this date, with Jim Carlisle as the new host, replacing Jim Koger of WTVM. It was reported that when WTVM moved to a new location, the feed from the Columbus Sports Arena was not strong enough, so Fred Ward and Ralph Freed negotiated a deal with WRBL to carry the matches. Carlisle, who had no prior experience with the wrestling business, had also worked with WTVM previously, and at one time during the late 1960s hosted the highest rated local program in Columbus. Dubbed âBlast Off with V-Manâ, Carlisle, working as the title character, the show had a science fiction theme, with the V-Man urging âpeace to the universeâ.
