NWA ANARCHY TV TAPING REPORT 12-6-08 by LARRY GOODMAN
NWA Anarchy ran their final television taping prior to Seasonâs Beatings 2008 on December 20.
It was finely crafted show, one that deserved a better fate than to be witnessed by the lowest crowd for 2008 in Cornelia. There were noly over 100 in attendance at the NWA Arena. A year ago, the number was 175. Like with Fright Night, I suspect the sinking economy led some fans to forgo last nightâs show so they could attend Seasonâs Beatings.
Executive Producer Kevin Marx (he of the outstanding video intros) said there would be no Kidâs Club tonight and introduced the owner or NWA Anarchy, Jerry Palmer.
Palmer informed the crowd that Shadow Jackson would not be the special ref in the main event because his newborn son was in grave condition in a Columbia, SC hospital. Palmer said Shadow IV had shown some improvement and asked the crowd to pray for the Jackson family. Palmer said he wouldnât have made it through the traumatic events surrounding the premature birth of his son, Griffin without the support of the Anarchy fans. Palmer said to think positive, and to underscore the point, he brought Griffin out to the ring for his NWA Arena debut at the age of 4 months and 9 days. It was, to say the least, an emotionally charged way to open the show.
Ring announcer Greg Hunter cut to the dressing room, where a brawl had broken out between Wild Bunch and The Technicians. It spilled down the ramp and into the ring with five refs out there trying to restore order â” a spirited affair that got the show off to a hot start. Hunter announced that two teams would meet in a Texas Tornado match at Seasonâs Beatings.
Palmer came out to introduce the ânew and improvedâ Melissa Coates wearing babyface white.
(1) Melissa Coates beat Crystal Rose in 4:20. Rose is a local favorite that always has the fans pulling hard for her, so this was babyface vs. babyface. Coates dominated, which was a good thing, since the size difference made it tough to buy Roseâs offense. Coates looked smooth and technically sound on the mat. Itâs a strength she should showcase more often. Coates hit a Samoan Drop for a near fall. Rose got her lone near fall with a huracanrana. A battle of backslides ended with Coates hitting the Facelift for the pin.
Brodie Chase entered the ring. He blamed Coates for his suspension and was about to slap her when Palmer came out. Chase shoved Palmer. Palmer decked Chase to spark a âJer-E!, Jer-E!â chant for the crowd. Palmer said he was going to whip Chaseâs ass.
Hunter threw it backstage where John Johnson was with the Talent & Money, the number one contenders for the NWA Anarchy Tag Team Championship. Dynamic Duo showed up. Chad Parham disputed T & M claim to the number one spot. Jeremy Vain & Rob Adonis joined the party. Vain said it was he and Adonis that deserved the title shot. Bill Behrens said they would settle it in match involving one member from each team â” Parham, Talent and Vain.
(2) Azrael (with the Reverend) defeated Adrian Hawkins and Hayden Young and Kyle Matthews in a four-way elimination match to win the Young Lionâs Contender Tournament in 7:59. Huge pop for Slim J out on color commentary. Wild action. Young took a scary bump over the top when he almost lost control on an aerial move. Matthews crashed and burned on the floor with the help of Azrael. Young hit a slingshot crossbody on Matthews. There was a nice visual of Young standing tall over three fallen opponents. Young gave Hawkins a backdrop on the ramp. Young took a rough looking bump on a three-way tower or doom spot. Matthews connected on some flying moves before being eliminated by Hawkinsâ spinning Liger Bomb at 4 minutes. More high flying stuff from Young here. Young fought off the Liger Bomb to eliminate Hawkins at 6:45. Young worked over Azraelâs back with The Walls. There was a snafu on the finish because Young was supposed to get shoved off the top, and it didnât happen. Azrael pinned Young with the Ted Bundy.
Postmatch: J went into the ring to confront Azrael. Iâm looking forward to that one. Itâs a match Iâve seen many times before, and a match Iâll see any chance I get.
Truitt Fields renewed his challenge to the NWA Heavyweight Champion Iceberg. The Reverend came out. He was sick of Fieldsâ demands and ordered up a taste of both Azrael and Iceberg for the NWA Anarchy Television Champion. Shaun Tempers, dressed in a suit and tie, came to Fieldsâ rescue. Tempers said Fields was the one man that saved him after he was beaten down by the Rejects, so he had Fieldsâ back. Tempers said he had to know if Fieldsâ offer of a title match still stood. They shook hands. Itâs on for Seasonâs Beatings.
(3) The Texas Treats (Don Juan & Chris Marval) beat âThe Rock â~n Roll Ninjaâ Skitzo & Big Dogg in 7 minutes. Juan came out with a red rose in him mouth and did some dirty dancing with a girl in the front row. Juan busted out the lucha style. It built to a butt bump to the face of a seated Dogg. Funny stuff. Juan back everyone off with his pelvic thrusting until ref Jacob Ashworth ordered him to âput it down.â Juan took the heat. With the bleached blonde hair and trimmed down physique, Dogg looks like a badass version of Derrick King. He had a good match. Skitzo, not so much. He totally botched a slingshot move, and made matters a lot worse by laughing instead of selling. Marval cleaned house with a backdrop driver in Skitzo. Juan put Skitzo completely out of it with a stunner. Marval pinned Dogg after an inverted surfboard/middle rope elbow drop combo.
A sneering Attorney/Agent Jeff G. Bailey cut another awesome promo. His mic work started to take on new life when Shatter joined the Elite, and since Kimo came on board, Bailey has been at the heights of his powers. Bailey blamed Kimoâs suspension on Ace Rockwellâs abject cowardice and Palmerâs abuse of power. On the WrestleVision, we saw clips of Kimoâs attack on referee Wes Grissom and the aftermath in the dressing room. Grissom was on the floor bleeding and lapsing into unconsciousness. Palmer and Rockwell were at his side telling him help was on the way. Bailey said it made him sad that the insignificant piece of dirt didnât die on the floor. He noted two things Rockwell said in the video: 1) Someone has to stop Kimo. Bailey said it sounded like Rockwell was taking it upon himself. 2) Rockwell called Kimo an animal. Bailey said an animal belongs in a cage and issued a challenge for a cage match. Rockwell appeared on the ramp with the crowd chanting his name. When Rockwell started talking about the video, Bailey interrupted to say it was hilarious. Rockwell said he felt terrible about what happened to Grissom, and he was gladly accepting the challenge. Bailey started jumping for joy. Rockwell said he was a fighter, and there would be no surrender, because he was coming to kick Kimoâs ass. Palmer came out and said he wasnât opposed to a cage, but there would be an official, and if Kimo touched that official, Bailey would be gone from Cornelia for good after 12 years. Bailey wanted to know what was up with Palmerâs obsession with referees. Palmer left Bailey to ponder the identity of the special ref for the main event. Bailey pouted as his demand to know fell on deaf ears. This entire segment was money.
(4) J.T. Talent (with Andrew Pendleton) vs. Chad Parham (with Seth Delay) vs. Jeremy Vain (with Rob Adonis) ended in a no contest at 6:46. Simple story: three heels each pullin gout underhanded tricks on the other two guys. Everyone was hitting their big moves and having their pin attempts broken up. There was a legit problem between Parham and Talent. Parham took issue with something Talent did and bailed to the back before the segment was over. Talent & Money and Adonis & Vain continued to brawl after ref Brent Wiley called for the bell.
Postmatch: New Wave were shown on the big screen. Having the larger-than-life champions looking down upon the challengers was a very effective way to stage things. In this case, more so than having them come to ringside. Steven Walters said they were already at the top. The camera pulled back to show that New Wave was standing on a ladder, and you know what that means.
Bill Behrens was introduced as Shadow Jacksonâs replacement in the role of special referee for the main event.
(5) Mikal Judas defeated Phil Shatter (with Jeff G. Bailey) in a no DQ/no count out match to earn a spot in the three-way match for the NWA Anarchy Heavyweight Championship at Seasonâs Beatings (17:30). Excellent match except for the crowd. None of the electricity that was present seven days ago when these two met. It was weird. They were hardly popping at all. Shatter kept bailing out, but Judas was stalking him. Shatter fought off a choke slam. Judas uncorked a barrage of shoulder blocks that put Shatter down in the corner. Judas gave him the face wash treatment. Shatter tried to take a time out to lick his wounds, but Judas was on him with a lariat off the apron. Judas choked Shatter with the camera cable. In a rare ECWish spot, a fan in the first row held up a chair, and Judas rammed Shatterâs head into it. The fan took a bow. A fan in the opposite corner followed suit. The tide turned when Judas got crotched on the top due to Baileyâs interference. Shatter superplexed the 6-7, 275 pound Judas with ease. Shatter launched an all out assault on Judasâ lower back. Shatter used a spinebuster and a grounded bearhug. Bailey gave Shatter a chair to grind into Judasâ back. At 11:30, Shatter went head first into a wedged chair on a spear attempt. It left Shatter with a huge lump on his forehead. Judas tried a top rope lariat, but Shatter speared him out of midair. Both men down. Judas gave Shatter a rocket launcher and leveled him with the Mafia Kick. Judas was hurting too bad to follow up quickly and Shatter kicked out. Both men in serious agony here. Shatter hit the PTSD, but was also very slow to cover, and Judas kicked out. Judas brought Shatter off the middle rope with a choke slam for a very near fall. Judas got Shatter up for El Crucifijo. Judas saw Bailey up on the apron and let loose of Shatter. Bailey pulled out a bag of powder. Behrens âaccidentallyâ knocked the powder into Baileyâs face. Bailey took a bump, his face covered in white. Judas pinned Shatter with a Chokebreaker. Given that Jackson was unavailable, Plan B worked out quite nicely.
The evil Reverend brought Iceberg to ringside to entice Judas with the sight of the heavyweight title belt. Unfortunately, a good portion of the crowd had already headed out into the cold winter night, so the show ended on a deathly quiet note.

What happens when you mix the two together? NWA-Anarchy!
– Welcome to NWA Anarchy Wrestling, this is HOSTILE ENVIRONMENT 2008~! This week, John Johnson is all thugged out classical New York mafia attire!
1. The New Wave (Derrick Driver & Steven Walters) defeated Those Two Idiots (Chad Parham & Seth Delay).
This match broke down to an incredible double team maneuver by the New Wave” a guillotine legdrop with Delay held in a pendulum position! Parham tries to make Walters pay with a rollup and a handful of tights. Driver wins with a blind tag Sunset flip. Afterwards, Parham takes personal offense and piledrives Driver. Brutus “the Barber” Beefcake sets up shop, but NWA Anarchy Owner Jerry Palmer makes the save. Palmer chastises Parham & Delay for playing with toys like brass knuckles and scissors. In two week, Sal Rinauro will tag with Palmer in a loser of the fall gets his head shaved match. Johnson pukes at Palmer for encouraging the fans for imagining what Delay would look like with a cue ball forehead. Who knows, he may overtake Todd Sexton as “the New Bald Headed Jerk” of NWA Anarchy.
2. Don Matthews defeated Brodie Ray Chase & Melissa Coates via pinfall in a slave match.
Imagine the Merciless one holding Melissa as a personal slave for several weeks. Don makes quick work by ordering Coates to: “WHIP IT REAL GOOD~!” Matthews unleashes six months of frustration by sending Coates straight to Hades with the Lariat of Doom.
3. “The 7 Figured Deal” Ace Rockwell forced “the Bald Headed Jerk” Todd Sexton say “I quit.”
The Technicians may have played the Warren G card with the Regulator, but the Wild Bunch prevents a second attack in this no disqualification I-quit affair. Sexton continued his assault by superkicking Rockwell from the apron through six folding chairs at ringside. Rockwell eventually made Sexton his personal pregnant pregnant dog with the Ace’s High and relentless ground and pound. Sexton immediately lost his testacies by calling for his mommy!
4. The Hollywood Brunettes (Andrew Alexander & Kyle Matthews) & Bo Newsome & Chip Day & Malachi defeated Sex, Talent & Money (Caleb Konley & JT Talent & Andrew Pendleton III) & “Pink Power” Adrian Hawkins & “Jay “Don’t Call Me Bill or George” Clinton.
Day pinned Clinton after a somersault 15 and a half twist splash.
– After months of ducking, Mikael Judas must face Jeremy Vain, Mr. Rob Adonis and five other huge lumberjacks. Just asking, does Jeremy actually believe that Judas can’t overcome the odds?
5. “The Priest of Punishment” Mikael Judas defeated “the Untouchables” Jeremy Vain w/Mr. Rob Adonis & His Entourage in a lumberjack match.
It’s fairly obvious that Jay Clinton has overtaken TK Kross as the Little pregnant dog of the NWA Arena. Judas sends him flying into 67 bazillion other wrestlers via Air El Crucifijo. Meanwhile, Mr. Adonis eats a DDT to allow Vain to gain the advantage with the VDT on a chair. Vain kicks his bodyguard to the floor to make the cover, but Judas kicks out at two. Wow, so this was Jeremy’s master plan? It failed miserably. Judas reads Vain his last rites with the El Crucifijo.
6. “0% Body Fat” Truitt Fields pinned “the Attraction” Hayden Young to retain the NWA Anarchy TV Title.
“The Feature Presentation” Jeff Lewis stepped aside to enjoy the squabble come to a boil between Fields and Young. Young made Fields pay for several mistakes with a methodical style offense. Lewis admits he enjoys Young’s heel tactics, so do I. Fortunes turn for worse when Fields suplexes both of them over the top rope to the floor. Fields loses another race by posting himself and eats a shooting star press bodyblock. Thankfully, Young didn’t wipe himself out. After commercial, Young leaps off the top rope into an overhead belly to belly suplex. Fields scores a two count after a brainbuster. Fields sets up for a superplex, but Young tosses him aside. Fields ducks the Flying Squirrel and goes for the Killing Fields, but Young cradles him for a near fall. With the time limit approaching, Young lands an enziguri. After struggling to their feet, Fields accidentally headbutts Young into referee Jacob Butterworth. Young smartens up, commandeers the TV Title and struggles with his inner demons. Lewis & Johnson are livid, “What an idiot!” Truitt destroys Young with the Killing Fields. Afterwards, Young refused to shake Fields’ hand. Young wrestled a good singles match here by slowing it down. For some reason, I think there was a missed opportunity to propel Young’s singles career.
– There’s nothing like the Devil’s Rejects traveling to the Sudan and smoking the Peace Pipe. Sorry, I don’t smoke funny cigarettes or brownies sprinkled with green goodies inside, but I’m just wondering what color is in Wilson’s pipe: green, purple, or gold? Unfortunately, Bailey plans to drive stake through the vampire’s heart. BTW, Shatter will walk into Hades to face the Devil himself.
7. The NWA Elite (Phil Shatter & “the Information Extractor” Kimo & “the Human Holocaust” Abomination) w/Agent/Attorney Jeff G. Bailey defeated the Devil’s Rejects (“No Pain Murder Train” Iceberg & Shaun Tempers & Azreal) w/”the Dragon” Dan Wilson & the Staff of Righteousness” in a Do or Die match to capture the NWA Anarchy Tag Team Titles.
Midway through, Abomination eludes a rolling senton from the apron by Iceberg. The Rejects would hit the Hellhammer on Shatter, but he can’t be pinned because he isn’t the legal man. The legal man, Kimo, pins Azreal with a clothesline.
– The Konkrete Gorillas proclaim that War Games is unfair due to having Shadow’s B… I… T… C… H…, remnants of the Benefactor Trophy, and they are offended at Shadow’s numerous homosexual references. Shadow reminds the Gorillas that Nemesis & his girlfriend will bleed for what they did to Slim J, BUSTER~! I feel sorry for the Gorillas.
8. Shadow Jackson & Slim J defeated the Konkrete Gorillas in a War Games (Nemesis & Jay Fury) match.
The last time the NWA Arena featured a cage match, Slim J made Patrick Bentley a star at Season’s Beatings ’08. (I’ll admit, I marked out for Bentley’s performance, but it’s too bad he isn’t around in NWA Anarchy any more.) Slim makes his mark here with a breathtaking top rope Screwdriver on the Rocks on Fury. Fury would gain a measure of revenge with a top rope German suplex. Later on, Shadow superbombs Nemesis and Jay wiping out the Gorillas a cross body. In the end, Shadow ended this year’s War Games as last year’s did, with a jagged edge of a the Benefactor trophy being shoved down Nemesis head. Shadow hung Fury over his shoulder to win War Games. From the highlights, Hostile Environment was pretty d**n good. Can’t wait for the DVD.

Attendance: 165
(1) Bulldog Raines beat Shaun Tempers. Said to be decent.
(2) Colt Derringer pinned The Wrestler with his feet on the ropes. Raines jumped Derringer after the match to get revenge for the hanging last week.
(3) Micah & Tracy Taylor beat Chip Day & El Loco when Micah pinned Day. Good match. A swollen looking Josh Stone destroyed Day and Loco after the match to turn heel.
(4) Ace Rockwell & Frankie Valentine beat The Brits (Simon Sermon & Thomas Britain) to win the PTPW Tag Titles. Controversial finish. Ref Rob Russo got bumped twice, first by Rockwell and then by Sermon. Dr. Steve Miller ran out and made the three count with Rockwell scoring the pinfall. A long debate ensued between Miller and Russo. Just when it appeared that Russo was going to award the belts to the Brits, they tried to snatch them out his hand and he instead awarded them to Rockwell and Valentine. It got a big pop.
Roper denied the Brits a rematch next week, which is scheduled to be their last appearance in PTPW before their contracts run out.
(5) Killer Instinct (Mike Stratus & Jake Slater) beat Iceberg & Deathrow. Iceberg and Deathrow immediately started fighting. Promoter Billy Roper entered the ring and ordered them to stop. Problems continued, however, with Iceberg avoiding Deathrow’s attempts to tag. Deathrow then tagged Berg via a punch in the face. Deathrow then slammed Iceberg, who was pinned by Slater. The monsters brawled after the match.
Before the main event, Siaki announced that Bull Buchanan was a no-show because he had decided to side with GCW invaders, so the scheduled 6 man was being reduced to a tag match.
(6) Chris Stevens & David Young beat Sonny Siaki & Johnny Swinger (with Zero Tolerance) via DQ when Zero interfered. Crowd was on their feet and popping huge for the rest of the show. As the invaders tried to exit through the back door after the match, they were attacked by Buchanan. Roper called for the originally scheduled 6 man tag to take place.
(7) Bull Buchanan & Chris Stevens & David Young beat Sonny Siaki & Johnny Swinger & Zero Tolerance when Siaki was subjected to a total humiliation pin. All of the Bad Company guys hit their signature moves on Siaki. Wilson, the security guard that Siaki had attacked on several occasions, gave Siaki a 619. Roper gave Siaki a DDT on a chair, busting up his elbow in the process. All of them stood on Siaki for the pin.
Swinger demanded a rematch next week and said he would have a surprise for Bad Company. Buchanan promised a surprise of his own.

NWA Main Event â” Episode 34 by Larry Goodman

This weekâs show opened with a rundown of the card for Tennessee Homecoming 2008 pushing it as an historic wrestling event. The main events: a two ring battle royal with the winner to receive the Nick Gulas Memorial Cup and $1000, and Brian Christopher vs. Doug Gilbert in a grudge match.
Then to a repeat airing of the Brian Christopher promo from last week.
Tyler Clemmons was MIA, so Jason James was joined by a succession of color commentators, starting with Harry Ballsack aka former NWA Main Event announcer Lonewolf
1 â” âThe Internetâs Favorite Wrestlerâ WHITE TIGER vs. âInternetâs Favorite Wrestler #2â LARRY COOTER
Ballsack announced the opening of the Main Event you tube site.Tiger did a springboard backflip to reverse an armbar that looked shockingly good compared to the rest of his offense. When Tiger went for a pescado, Cooter made the catch and rammed his back into the ringpost. James claimed Cooter was the legit grandson of the owner of Cooterâs Garage in the television version of Dukes of Hazzard.
Winner: Cooter in 6:25 with a pumphandle power slam. Itâs a monumental task for a good wrestler to carry one of these guys to a decent. Putting them together was asking for trouble. Ballsackâs tongue-in-cheek commentary only made matters worse. It didnât make me laugh, but it did make feel stupid for watching this junk.
Cooter promo for a match against âMeanâ Mike Woods at the Homecoming show that never happened. Cooter said it would be a case of the student teaching the teacher a lesson.
2 â” DYRON FLYNN vs. BRYAN CASEY
Cameraman Cal Varnson on color for this match. Casey dominated. They made a deal out of Casey being the descendant of a famous wrestler, obviously Rick Rude. Casey did the swivel hips. At one point, Varnson compared Flynnâs footwork to Michael Flatley from Riverdance. James topped him.
Irish people know how to do one of two things, drink or fight, and the kidâs too young to drink, so he better learn how to fight.
In discussing the Christopher/Gilbert match, Varnson said âBig Sexyâ was one of his favorites. Casey went up top and got slammed ala Flair to same up a lame comeback by Flynn, who ended up spearing the post. Casey used the Rude Awakening for his finisher.
Winner: Casey in 5:40 with the Rude Awakening. Caseyâs wrestling looked solid. Itâs already well established that Flynn sucks monkey balls. Casey has a much slighter build than Rude, but the there is somewhat of a resemblance. That swivel hips really needs work though.
Charles and Casey promo from the Fairgrounds. Casey said he came from wrestling royalty. Charles said to reveal his lineage now would be rude.
A new Doug Gilbert promo aired. Gilbert said they would see who the turkey was going to be on Thanksgiving night at the Fairgrounds. Gilbert brought up the Memphis Mafia again and teased that his father or Sid Vicious could be there.
3 â” NWA Mid-America Heavyweight Champion JEFF DANIELS (with Dominique) vs. RICKY SYKS
Lonewolf was himself on commentary doing the heel commentator bit. James said he had learned what not to say or do as an announcer from him. Dominique distracted to set up the heat. Daniels used karate thrusts to the windpipe. Syks got a visual fall with a sunset flip while Dominique kept debuting ref Josh Randall occupied. A lariat and big series of punches had Daniels on rubber legs, but he side stepped Syksâ mad charge into the corner, hit a Russian leg sweep and slapped on the Dominator. Syks tapped quickly.
Winner: Daniels via submission in 5:15 with the Dominator. This was OK. I hated to see Syks pinned in this spot, when it could have been anybody. Syks is one of the more talented guys they have, if they just figure out a good way to use him.
4 â” CHRIS CAIN vs. AIDEN SCOTT
Daniels out on commentary. Scott on fire. Repeated bailing by an infuriated Cain. Scott chased and got cut off like a dummy. Daniels pushed the Tennessee Homecoming show hard, saying the heels would win ever match. He put himself over as the longest reigning NWA TV Champion. Said he broke Tully Blanchardâs record. No water the pool for Cainâs senton back splash. Scott blew the n*p up to start the comeback. Too bad. The comeback was fine. Cain begged off. Scott
Hit did two flying crossbodys. Why he would go for three, who knows. In any case, Cain rolled through to pin Scott using the ropes.
Winners: Cain in 6:10. I actually kind of liked this with the story being that Scott was done in by his inexperience. They both worked very hard.
Scott promo. He taking home the X Division title at Tennessee Homecoming. The only way Cain could stop him was to kill him first.
Cain promo. He had worked his way to the top and he was coming down on Scott.
5 â” âPlayboyâ SCOTT HAYES vs.âMagnumâ SHANE SMALLS
Daniels on commentary again and doing a lot of talking. They teased the graphic footage of Daniels/Hayes from the Fairgrounds again. Hayes doing his babyface thing, and doing it well in the early going. Smalls used gutter tactics to take over. James got so pissed at Daniels that he briefly left the announcerâs table. Fancy spinning neckbreaker by Hayes for the double down. Hayes hit a springboard back elbow and the tornado DDT. Daniels hit the ring but Hayes was ready for him. Daniels begged off but Smalls got him from behind. Double teaming ensued. Steve-O made the save. The faces took over and whipped Daniels and Smalls into each other.
Winner: Hayes in 7:30 via DQ. The most energetic, athletic performance Iâve seen from Hayes. It was important for the babyface side to prevail at the end.
6 â” SHAWN SHULTZ vs. Mid-America Television Champion STEVE- 0
NWA Main Event promoter Mike Porter on color. He ribbed James about the replacement commentators auditioning for his job. I donât even want to think about watching this show without James. Shultz did the usual whining and complaining, then kicked the ever loving crap out of O on the break. O made the comeback. Superkick! Small tried to interfere. O brought him in the hardway and got clubbed from behind by Shultz. Ferrari called for the DQ. Hayes hit the ring and cleaned house. Daniels attacked Hayes. He came right back. Shultz tried to clock Hayes and hit Daniels by accident. Hayes was still on fire as they segment closed.
Winner: Steve-O via DQ in 6:18. Any time Main Event can puts O in the ring against a quality worker like Shultz, itâs a plus. Hayes was on the verge of becoming a superman by the time it was over.
Smalls promo. Said he was 10x better and smarter than Steve-O. I loved it. He vowed to leave the NWA if he didnât beat O at Tennessee Homecoming.
Steve-O admitted Smalls outsmarted him tonight, but he was going to write Smalls a one way ticket out of Nashville on Thanksgiving.
Hayes promo from the Fairgrounds with his head bandaged. Hayes said he was going to call upon a past he wasnât proud of at Tennessee Homcoming. This was no longer about the title, it was about revenge.
Daniels promo (with Dominique) saying he had Hayes busted open and beaten. George Gulas and Deputy Commissioner Gordon interrupted. Gordon said George had granted him the power to order another no DQ match at Tennessee Homecoming. Iâm giving him the benefit of the doubt because he sure didnât say it that clearly.
The show closed with the finish of the Daniels/Hayes no DQ match at the Fairgrounds. Daniels kicked out an OâConnor Roll sending Hayes to the ropes where Dominque wacked him in the head with a chair. Daniels scored the pin.
Closing Thoughts: This was the go home show for Tennessee Homecoming, and they did push it hard. Homecoming ended up drawing 250. Not a bad number all things considered. The tradition of Thanksgiving Day wrestling in Nashville is a bittersweet relic of a bygone era in southern wrestling, but I guess itâs still worth a little something at the boxoffice. Whatever success they had, it was certainly despite the television shows taped in LaVergne rather than because of themâ¦Crowd was still only 30 this week. It makes the product comes across beyond dead on TV. On the plus side, at least they took down all those empty rows of chairs. On the negative side, theyâre still using that horrible vinyl looking mat coverâ¦This show focused on more on the midcard stories, the battles surrounding the three singles titles. In particular, this show had a rather impressive 11th hour push for Hayes as a serious heavyweight title challengerâ¦Whatever was up with Clemmons, this show needed him bad. I thought Daniels did a hell of job on color. The other guys were brutalâ¦Letting Gordon near a mic is asking for troubleâ¦This show actually had too much wrestling content â” 32 minutes â” given the quality of wrestling their actually able to deliver. For comparison, the typical TNA show has about 22 minutes of wrestling spread over 2 hours. Not that itâs any goal to aspire to, but Main Event does need more character development. The problem is thereâs dearth of characters worth developing.

Without further ado, here is the lineup for the MCPW 2 Year Anniversary Event âArmed for Battleâ LIVE January 10th from the Kalkaska Civic Center in Kalkaska, Michigan:
MCPW Champion, Jimmy Jacobs and Tyler Black will be back in MCPW as a unit on January 10th, and theyâve let it be known that they will compete as a tag team, against who? It has not been announced, and The Age of the Fall have said theyâll let it be known who they want to face that night.
After hanging Caden Ames and leaving him in a bloody heap, the newly crowned MCPW No Limits Champion, Steve Amani will be at the 2 Year Anniversary Event. Since Caden Amesâ has been unable to contact since âAfterMathâ last November, Steve Amani has laid out an open challengeâ¦a No Limits Challenge. Anyone can accept, who will it be?
The first ever Chainsaw Cup takes place this March, however the action will get started just a bit early! The self-proclaimed, âMr. No Limitsâ Bryan Skyline takes on âAll Niteâ Adam Renolds, and the newest star on the MCPW Roster, âOld Timerâ Jeff King. These three are all looking for a big win heading into the Chainsaw Cup Tournament, to gain momentum, find out who takes on January 10th!
At AfterMath, MCPW Champion Jimmy Jacobs retained his MCPW Championship against Christin Able, with the stipulation being made that the loser would have to leave MCPW for 90 Days. Christin Able is a man of his word, and on January 10th, he will make his farewell speech before he heads out of MCPW for 90 Days. Itâs sure to be emotional and heart-felt, as Christin Ableâs journey will have to start over again.
Back in September Hardcore Harry saved Mikey Zeroe from what could have been a career ending beat down at the hands of James Dillinger, then in November James Dillinger was scheduled to take on Hardcore Harry but he beat him down before he could even get in the locker room, now the new MCPW Commissioner has signed himself as a special guest referee and made it a hardcore rules match. Things are going to get hardcore in MCPW, starting January 10th!
With Main Street Youth coming off a big win over the 2007 Tag Team of the Year in Michigan, Ringside Revueâ¦singles matches have been set up. Scotty Young will take on Keith Crème, and Jake Omen will take on Gavin Starr. We know Ringside Revue can co-exist better than anyone as a team, but how will they fair in singles matches, against the team that just defeated them?

-Memphis Raines came out to start the show. A video of injured NWA Representative Mike Sweetser played on the new ECCWTron. In it, Sweetser said that he was ready to fire Sylum after the Chill Town member Tombstoned Memphis’ girlfriend in Surrey last week… but Memphis demanded he get a match with Sylum. Because what Memphis is going to do to Sid will be much worse than a firing, Sweetser made Memphis vs Sid TONIGHT… and if Sid lost, he was out of ECCW!
*Sid Sylum d. Memphis Raines via disqualification. Memphis beat the living hell out of Sid, but ended up disqualified for excessive violence and shoving the referee. It took all the referees and the likes of Mikey D, Danni Deeds, CJ Strongheart and Memphis’ brother MR2 to pull Raines off of Sylum, whose swollen face showed the results of the beating!
*Ravenous Randy Myers d. El Phantasmo in a hilarious contest… words can’t do it justice. Just know that both men had their asses hanging out of their tights and a full moon roll-up got the win. NOW YOU’RE A MAN! MANAMANAMAN!
-MR2 came out for another edition of “On The Runway,” with a return appearance of his first guests – the Church of the Divine Prophecy. A suit-wearing MANTHER thought he was to be baptized into the Church, but instead the Divine Prophet baptized Mike Dempsey, then demanded Dempsey’s opponent come out…
*Mike Dempsey d. Alex Plexis with a Pump-Handle Cutter. Post-match, the Church beatdown the young Plexis until ABBADON made the save, delivering the Acid Drop to MANTHER and running off the rest of the Church!
-Callos came out to demand the title shot he won by defeating The Natural at the last student show. Scotty Mac, in street clothes, told Callos that he had only won “a” title shot… and since Scotty Mac wasn’t about to wrestle twice tonight, he determined that Callos title shot would come against Supergirls Champion Nicole Matthews!
*Nicole Matthews d. Callos. With Scotty remaining at ringside to get in cheap shots, the pint-size Callos had a hard time getting momentum against Nicole, who is bar-none one of the toughest female competitors in the Pacific Northwest. In the end however Nicole prevailed with a sick German Suplex for the pinfall.
*Fast Freddy Punk destroyed Adam Silva in under five minutes, hitting a triple powerbomb, uranage and the feared Funk top rope splash!
*Kenny Lush d. Dropkick Murphy in a no-disqualification match. Early on in the contest, Lush dove to the floor and smashed his face in, bloodying it for the rest of the match. The Natural interfered liberally as Chill Town made good use of the No DQ stipulation. Kenny Lush fought them both off, pounding The Natural with his running knee in the corner. Nicole Matthews came out to help. However her steel chair shot went awry when Lush broke free of Dropkick’s grip, and Nicole hit Dropkick allowing Lush to get the pinfall!
*Scotty Mac defeated MR2 to retain the NWA Canadian Heavyweight Championship. Smac refused to defend the title until Memphis Raines left the building. MR2 seemingly had the match and title won after a Swanton, but Natural distracted referee Bill Taylor from counting the pinfall. In the ensuing confusion Scotty Mac was able to deliver a devastating hangman’s neckbreaker to put this one away.
*In tag team action, RAGE of Chucky Blaze and Brandon Van Danielson defeated the team of Tony Tisoy and “Superfly” Dan Myers following a double-team maneuver on Tisoy.
*In the main event, Billy Suede d. Kyle O’Reilly 4 falls to 3 in a Thirty-Minute IronMan match to retain the NWA Canadian Jr Heavyweight title. Suede scored the first fall early on with a snappy roll-up. Just minutes later, the champion went up 2-0 after a schoolboy. After the second fall it appeared that Kyle had injured his knee. As Billy went after it, Kyle demanded Suede display sportsmanship. Surprisingly, the champion acquiesced and left the injury alone. Suede would pay for that, however, as Kyle revealed he had been feigning the injury to gain an advantage! Kyle tied up the count at 2 falls apiece with two submission falls over the next ten minutes. Neither man seemed able to get a deciding fall, and a frustrated O’Reilly took his quest to regain the title to a new level, delivering a brainbuster through an open chair! This resulted in a disqualification, putting Suede up 3-2, but O’Reilly easily pinned a damaged Suede to tie it up. O’Reilly went
on the offensive with under three minutes to go, the dazed Suede seemingly ripe for the picking, but it was the champion who managed an amazing top-rope Sliced Bread #2 to score a fall with five seconds remaining!
-After the match, Kyle and Suede shook hands, displaying the respect they had developed for one another. This respect did not sit well with Suede’s friend Artemis Spencer, who angrily confronted the Champion on this, then laid out the exhausted Suede to the boos of the Vancouver crowd. Kyle O’Reilly came out to make the save, and once again O’Reilly and Suede showed respect for one another as the night came to a close.

Masato Tanaka scored tag revenge for his singles loss to Nagata in October, that deprived him of ZERO1-MAX’s World Heavyweight Title as Emblem bested Nagata & Kanemoto today.
Tanaka’s big win came following a Sliding D and he made demands for a rematch against Nagata to try and take the belt back to 01, with a 1/4 match seeming possible, moreso if Nagata defeats Takaiwa in his next defense of the title.
RISE’s Nakamura & Goto, continuing to bounce back from their G1 Tag League disappointment, won big today by beating Legend’s Choshu & Chono, Nakamura forcing Power Hall to submit to a cross armbreaker. Nakamura then made the challenge that the magazines suggested was coming, calling out NOAH boss Mitsuharu Misawa for a fight at the Tokyo Dome. Although a singles match seems unlikely at the present stage, what is likely is a Nakamura & Goto vs. Misawa & X (Jun Akiyama being the leading candidate) super tag match on January 4th.
