"The Nature Boy" Ric Flair made his official Ring of Honor debut last night during their show in St. Louis.
Flair did a promo in the ring putting over the company, claiming the ROH locker room would produce "the next Shawn Michaels", and that he and ROH will work well together.
ROH champion Nigel McGuinness eventually confronted Flair, saying he wouldn’t criticize him as a wrestler but that he was a terrible father and husband. This led to the two verbally tussling back and forth and even prompted a storyline tease where Flair would manage his son Reid Flair to challenge McGuinness for the ROH title. Flair left the segment claiming he would see McGuinness "next week" in Virginia.
As luck would have it, that wasn’t the last those two saw of each other in St. Louis. Flair returned later in the night during a McGuinness title bout to make the save for his opponent, Brent Albright, who McGuinness and Claudio Castagnoli were double-teaming. The show ended with Flair raising Albright’s hand.
It is believed that Ric Flair has signed on to work five more ROH shows, including talk of him possibly getting involved as a special referee down the line.
