Sat. Oct. 2nd TNA House Show Results – Florence, SC
I went to my first live TNA show tonight and thoroughly enjoyed it.
When we arrived, the Pope DeAngelo Dinero was signing autographs at the Souvenir table while Don West was promoting items in the ring and throwing out freebies.
The show kicked off with Jeremy Borash coming out. He started talking about handing out backstage passes to the loudest fans. One of the backstage workers came out and said that Eric Young said no one could go backstage tonight. Borash and the crew memeber argued some, before Young came out and took over the argument. Borash said you can tell me what to do and you can tell the fans what to do, but you can’t tell this man what to do and out came Jeff Jarrett. Jarrett said if EY wins, no backstage passes will be handed out, but if he wins they will be passed out. Pretty good back and forth match. At one point, EY called time out and went outside the ring and started jogging around it. I got tired watching him as he ran around it so many times. More back and forth, before Jarrett hit the Stroke to get the 3-count from Ref – Slick Johnson.
WINNER Match #1 – Jeff Jarrett
Post Match – Jarrett made EY take passes out to the crowd, he happily ran around and gave out passes.
Match 2 – Triple Threat – Doug Williams vs. Brian Kendrick vs. the "Prince of Punk" Shannon Moore
My Wife and I were the only ones clapping for Williams as that is our last name. Kendrick looked like a KKK member while he meditated in the ring. Moore was way over with the crowd. His home is less than 2 hrs. from Florence. Moore & Kendrick double teamed Williams early on until Kendrick finally took a shot at Moore. Everyone took a turn powdering out thereafter until Williams finally picked up the win.
WINNER Match #2 – Doug Williams
Match 3 – Madison Rayne vs. TNA Knockout Champion – Angelina Love
Earl Hebner was our Referee here. He had his Damn Right I Did T-shirt on. He even mocked the Hitman’s entrance. The knockouts took turns shaking their booty as they stepped over the 2nd rope. Finally Rayne jumped Love during her turn. I thought it was a pretty good match, not many botches like you sometimes see during Women’s matches or maybe I just didn’t notice because I was trying to take too many pictures. At one point, Hebner caught Rayne in his arms and kissed her. Not long after, Love rolled Rayne up for the win.
WINNER Match #3 – Still TNA Knockout Champion – Angelina Love
Match 4 – Beer Money vs. TNA Tag Team Champions – Motor City Machine Guns
Defintely match of the night up to this point. Lots of back & forth and lots of Double team moves. End game came when Roode was holding Alex Shelley for Storm to hit him with the Superkick, Shelley moved and Storm accidentally hit Roode. The MCMG’s then took Storm out before they hit the neck-breaker / top-rope dive combo on Roode to pick up the win.
WINNER Match #4 and still Champions – Motor City Machine Guns
Intermission saw Madison Rayne sigh autographs while Don West hocked the merchandise and threw out more freebies.
Match 5 – Tag Team Match – Magnus & Pope DeAngelo Dinero vs, Rhino & Samoa Joe
Magnus and Pope were not on the same page for this one. Rhino and Pope started the match. Lots of "Lets Go Rhino" chants that were met from me and my section of "Lets Go Pope". Good action. Samoa Joe is an agile Man for a Man his size and its more appreciated in person. At one point, Joe dove through the ropes to hit Pope outside. He knocked Pope into the security barrier which in turn knocked one of the Event Staff guys who had his back turned to the action out of his chair. I was laughing so hard, I missed Rhino gore Magnus.
WINNER Match #5 – Rhino & Samoa Joe
Match 6 and Main Event – AJ Styles w/ Ric Flair vs. Jeff Hardy
Styles and Flair were out first. Flair is so over in the Carolinas it is ridiculous. People were Woooooing the whole time he was out there. I swear one time, it looked like he almost teared up hearing all the adoration. Hardy came out and the roof blew off. He doesn’t live far from me in our home state of North Carolina, so South Carolina is home territory for him too. This and the Beer Money / MCMG’s were without a doubt the 2 best matches. Hebner ejected Flair after Flair got some shots in on Hardy outside the ring. When this was announced, people Booed like crazy. Both guys went on to hit all their signature moves. Finally after about 16-18 minutes, Hardy hit the Swanton Bomb for the 3 count.
Winner Match #6 – Jeff Hardy
Post Match – JB said Hardy would be taking pictures in the ring with individuals, couples, families, groups, whatever for $20. Meanwhile. Angelina Love, Jeff Jarrett, & Earl Hebner signed autographs at the Souvenir stand. The MCMG’s and Magnus came back out to sign autographs at ringside. I had the opportunity to talk to Don West on the way out. I told him they put on a great show and he said he appreciated me coming out. TNA is certainly being very Fan-Friendly right now. I hope they never outgrow that.
