The Undertaker recently opened up on The Kliq’s infamous curtain call moment. Although he understood it, the legend thinks the moment was selfish more than anything.
During a recent episode of his podcast in which he answered questions, the legend was asked about the infamous “curtain call” between the Kliq. For those unaware, WWE’s infamous “curtain call” moment took place in 1996, at a house show in Madison Square Garden.
Shawn Michaels and Diesel closed out the show in a Steel Cage match, and afterward, Razor Ramon and Triple H joined them for a hug. The moment was completely unscripted, and broke WWE’s kayfabe, as both Kevin Nash and Scott Hall were leaving the company to WCW. While the stars broke characters, it is often looked back on as a special moment in WWE‘s history.

Speaking on the moment, Undertaker said he ultimately thought it was “selfish” to do, even if he got why they did it. “I thought it was selfish. I get it, I mean, these guys, they were all best friends, and they’d been through a lot together and traveled up and down the roads together. But I just thought that they put themselves ahead of the business for that time period.”
Of course, The Undertaker is notorious for being a businessman above all else. He said it was “probably a good thing” that he wasn’t there when it happened, and that it “went against” all that he believed about the wrestling business, especially during the time when it happened.
Undertaker went on to say that, in today’s day and age, he doesn’t think anyone would really care about it. That also speaks to where the business is as of now, which Undertaker also likely has issues with.
