Adam Copeland Says His Wrestling Journey Won’t Last A Lot Longer

The journey of Adam Copeland is nearing its end.

Tuesday marked the beginning of a new month. For Canadians, it also marked Canada Day, a celebration of the anniversary of Canadian Confederation. All Elite Wrestling star and Toronto native Adam “Edge” Copeland honored Canada Day with a pair of throwback photos and a statement about his future.

“On Canada Day 33 yrs ago I made my wrestling debut,” Copeland wrote on Instagram alongside an old promo photo and action shot.

“In Oakland Raiders Zubaz and a pair of Converse. Nowhere to go but up. Since then, I’ve travelled the world. Literally. Everywhere you can think of. From Moose Landing to Monterrey, from Bloodvein to Bucharest. It’s been a long, fruitful, soul expanding, soul diminishing, amazing, frustrating, exhausting, exhilarating journey over 3 decades. The best part? I hear every one of you when I blast out of that entranceway and sing Metalingus at the top of your lungs. It’s never been lost on me what a privilege that is. Australia I’m lookin at you!”

“It won’t last a lot longer so I’m gonna soak in every second,” he added. “Thank you for coming along on this ride with me.”

AEW fans last saw Adam Copeland at AEW Dynasty, when a loss to the AEW World Trios Champions resulted in his tag partner, Dax Harwood and Cash Wheeler, turning on him. Per a recent report, Copeland was on track to then reunite with former partner Christian Cage, though other creative plans have stalled it.

Earlier this year, Copeland revealed his intention to retire from pro wrestling around the age of 53. He is currently 51.
