Report: AEW Star Orange Cassidy Injury Update

Former AEW International Champion Orange Cassidy hasn’t been seen in the company for the past few months.

Orange Cassidy last wrestled in AEW in March on Dynamite. He competed in a fatal four-way match against Mike Bailey, Ricochet, and Mark Davis. Bailey won the match and advanced to the AEW International Title eliminator tournament final four-way.

In early April, reports revealed that Orange Cassidy was dealing with an injury. AEW sources believed he might have torn his pectoral muscle, which is a serious concern. Fightful Select recently reported that there’s still no clear timeline for his return.

The reports revealed that the company fears Orange Cassidy did suffer a torn pec. While he might make a few appearances on TV. He’s likely to stay out of in-ring action for the foreseeable future.

Orange Cassidy: AEW’s locker room is a positive place, we all want to do our best

While there’s no clear timeline for Orange Cassidy’s return, he did speak about the AEW locker room during an interview on The Shaky Experience podcast last year. He had described it as a place where everyone pushes each other to improve.

“Right now, the locker room, to me, we all want to do our very best,” Cassidy said. “At AEW, we’re trying to cultivate an idea that we should help each other do our best. It is competitive, but I feel it’s a healthy competition. When I see Will Ospreay have a match with Ricochet, when I see my friend Mark Briscoe go wrestle Kyle Fletcher, and they do incredible things, it helps drive me to do my best as well. It shouldn’t be a, ‘I want to get to the top so I’m going to step on you to get there.’ It should be, ‘I want to go to the top, but we should all help each other climb the ladder to get to the top.’ It can be daunting sometimes.

“You can see a match between Kenny Omega and Will Ospreay or Ospreay and (Konosuke) Takeshita, and they are doing superhuman things. They can do things no one else can do. That’s what makes AEW so special. Everybody brings something unique to them.”
