What is the current status of Claudio Castagnoli in All Elite Wrestling?
The former Ring of Honor World Champion hasn’t competed on AEW programming since the June 4 episode of Dynamite. Castagnoli lost in a four-way match for the International Championship.
His absence from Death Riders’ appearances recently has been noticeable, and many have wondered what this means for Castagnoli’s AEW status.
According to Dave Meltzer in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Claudio Castagnoli had been given this time off, and there is nothing negative surrounding his status with the company right now.
Castagnoli is not injured, nor did his namedrop on WWE programming recently cause this absence from AEW programming.
Fightful’s Sean Ross Sapp (via Fightful Select) also chimed in on Castagnoli’s status, stating that he was given time off for personal reasons and those in the company believe he’ll be back in time for All In next month.
Stay tuned to WrestleZone for more information as it becomes available.
