Kevin Owens addresses the longstanding rumor that he snuck into Cody Rhodes’ family photo and ruined their special moment.
Former WWE Universal Champion Kevin Owens recently appeared on the What Do You Wanna Talk About? With Cody Rhodes podcast. During the interview, the conversation turned to KO’s appearance in the now-iconic Rhodes family photo. This photo was taken during the unveiling of the Dusty Rhodes bronze statue at WrestleMania Axxess in 2016
Owens revealed that he was the only NXT talent to show up early morning for the event. He added that it was Cody Rhodes who suggested he join the photo next to the Dusty statue.
“But the morning they unveiled the statue at 9 a.m. at Axxess, the only NXT guy who showed up was me, because I wanted to see it,” Owens said. “I wanted to see the statue, and I’m ringside with the fans, and you go, ‘Kevin, get in here.’ I go, ‘No.’ (You insist) ‘Get in here… get in the picture.’ And then you spend years letting people think that I just jumped into your family picture and ruined this special moment.”

Elsewhere in the interview, Cody Rhodes asked Kevin Owens for his thoughts on wrestlers getting tans. The Prizefighter responded with a firm “no,” joking that Bron Breakker should be arrested for his tan.
“None of it’s good,” Owens said. “None of it’s good. No, dude, you weren’t born that color. I understand if you want to be a little darker, but you can’t…”
