AEW commentator Tony Schiavone made a cross-country trip to adopt a rescue dog, showing just how much he cares about animals.
KIRO-TV in Seattle shared the story, explaining that Tony Schiavone was inspired to adopt after seeing former AEW star Saraya backstage with a Chihuahua beagle mix. He instantly thought it was the perfect dog because he loved both breeds. He stated, “Holy smokes. I love Chihuahuas. I love beagles. It’s perfect”.
Saraya had informed him that her boyfriend adopted the dog from Motley Zoo in Monroe, Washington. When AEW planned a show in Seattle, Tony Schiavone reached out to the shelter. Although the dog he wanted wasn’t available at first, Schiavone and his wife ended up adopting a beagle in Atlanta.
However, Tony Schiavone, who loves dogs, didn’t give up on adopting the Chihuahua-beagle mix. He later flew to Seattle, took an Uber to Monroe, and brought the dog home to Georgia all in one day, Schiavone has named his dog Dobby. To show his appreciation for the shelter, he has been making monthly donations to Motley Zoo and often visits whenever he can.
