Jim Ross believes Vince McMahon will return to professional wrestling.
McMahon stepped away from WWE in 2022 following misconduct allegations. He returned in 2023, overseeing the company’s sale to Endeavor. In early 2024, former employee Janel Grant filed a lawsuit against Vince McMahon, accusing him of sex trafficking and sexual assault.
Since then, Vince McMahon has kept a low profile; however, recent reports suggest he has shown interest in purchasing Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship. On his Grilling JR podcast, Jim Ross addressed the growing speculation about Vince McMahon’s future. He suggested that the former WWE Chairman may attempt another comeback in the pro wrestling industry.
“He can be his own worst enemy. He’s very hard-headed, very stubborn. He’s also still very brilliant. I just don’t think we’ve heard the last of him in the pro wrestling space,” Ross said. “I don’t know where it’s headed. I don’t have any inside information, but I just think that he hasn’t sung his last song. He’s still got it, quite frankly. It’s in his blood, Conrad, it’s what he built. He’s the godfather of that whole genre. So why wouldn’t one assume that he’s going to make another foray into that world?” [H/T: PWMania]
Stephanie McMahon reveals Vince McMahon’s biggest nemesis
On her What’s Your Story? podcast, Stephanie McMahon revealed that Vince McMahon’s survival mindset stemmed from childhood abuse, including being left in a ditch by one of his mother’s boyfriends.
“His mindset was, if he could survive, he won,” Stephanie said. “So just surviving was winning and still is winning for him today. And I don’t know how you can ever beat someone at the end of the day if all they need to do is survive to win.”
Nick Khan said that he only has admiration for McMahon, even if he has a complicated history. “As Paul said — Triple H said — at his Hall of Fame speech, family’s complicated. And obviously, we don’t need to get into any of that. But in terms of business, that guy’s an empire builder.”
McMahon agreed, and said that no one can take that away from him, but he does remain his biggest enemy.
“Absolutely he is [an empire builder],” said Stephanie. “And no one can take that away from him, no matter what, including himself, who is probably his biggest nemesis — is himself.”
