TNA is recognizing its All Stars with a new award.
TNA shared footage of a recent backstage meeting between company President Carlos Silva and the TNA roster. Based on Silva’s comments, the meeting appears to have taken place at Robert Morris University during the company’s Pittsburgh TV tapings on June 21.
Silva presented KC Navarro, who he noted was the first All Star recipient, and Santino Marella with physical star awards for being named a TNA All Star in the past. For the latest award, Silva gave one to Zachary Wentz, who he praised for stepping up and getting back in the ring a second time when “Hunter and Tommy” [Delirious, aka Hunter Johnston and Tommy Dreamer, TNA producers] needed them.
“Last night, we had a couple of things happen. This person stepped in,” Silva explained. “When Hunter and Tommy needed someone, [they] stepped up and got back in the ring a second time. So Zach, [come on up here].”
Silva did not elaborate on what things “happened” and didn’t say when the award was started. However, based on the announcements, it’s a new addition that occurred in the past few tapings.
Silva also gave an award to Ingrid Isley, who works in Talent Relations and as a Production & Logistics Coordinator.
