Did the departure of Mariah May lead to changes in matches for the women ahead of AEW All In: Texas?
This morning in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer reported that Mariah May was factored into the original plans for AEW All In: Texas. Nothing that things needed to change following her departure.
Meltzer also stated that Mercedes Moné was willing to lose to Athena earlier this year to build to a rematch between the two at All In: Texas next month. However, this story doesn’t seem entirely accurate.
According to Fightful’s Sean Ross Sapp (via Fightful Select), while Mercedes isn’t opposed to losing to anyone, the plan for her match with Toni Storm at All In had been set since last year, even while Mariah May was champion.
May’s departure from the company was known well ahead of time. And it had no bearing on the booking for the title match at All In: Texas.
Stay tuned to WrestleZone for more on the card for AEW All In: Texas as it becomes available.
