Jim Cornette Blames Fan Influence For Affecting AEW ‘Indie Level’ Talent

All Elite Wrestling is considered one of the world’s biggest wrestling promotions. However, the promotion has received a lot of criticism, especially from Jim Cornette.

Last week on AEW Dynamite, the current AEW World Tag Team Champions Bobby Lashley and Shelton Benjamin, along with their Hurt Syndicate member MVP, tagged together to take on the team of Kevin Knight, Mascara Dorado, and “Speedball” Mike Bailey. During the match, a fan had pointed out that saw several botches and blamed the Hurt Syndicate for them.

“Since coming to AEW, the Hurt Syndicate have buried all the babyfaces—both on the mic and in the ring. This week, they had one simple spot where they were supposed to actually bump and they completely BOTCHED IT (not for the first time)!!!” a fan tweeted.

Jim Cornette shared his two cents on why he thinks stars like the Hurt Syndicate are still featured more prominently when compared to the ‘Indie Talent’. Cornette blamed the AEW fanbase for constantly praising the indie talent and ignoring their flaws, and blaming the veterans.

“Another reason why @AEW ‘s indy-level talent will never improve their in-ring game–their fans keep telling them they’re all good and the occasional REAL pros that wander in are making the mistakes. Hong Kong Phoey & pal need to stick to basics until they can get THAT stuff right,” Jim Cornette tweeted.

Cornette continues to be a polarizing figure in the pro wrestling world. However, The Hurt Business’ Shelton Benjamin recently explained why working for Cornette was one of the best things for his career.
