AEW Stars Appearing In New Steven Spielberg Movie

AEW stars Lance Archer, Brian Cage, and Chavo Guerrero have landed roles in an upcoming Steven Spielberg movie.

Reports from PWInsider confirmed that Hollywood director Steven Spielberg’s upcoming movie will include a scene featuring pro wrestling. AEW stars Brian Cage and Lance Archer were specifically cast for that scene, while Chavo Guerrero will serve as the stunt coordinator and also appear as the referee in the movie.

The wrestling scenes were filmed a few weeks ago at The Paramount Theater in Long Island, with Guerrero in charge of the wrestling scenes. The report mentioned that the plot of the movie hasn’t been revealed yet, but some scenes will show characters going to a pro wrestling event.

The currently untitled Spielberg movie is scheduled for theatrical release on June 12, 2026. It stars Emily Blunt, Colman Domingo, Josh O’Connor, Wyatt Russell, Colin Firth, and Eve Hewson.

Chavo Guerrero shared details about his work on a Spielberg movie

In March, Chavo Guerrero spoke with Busted Open Radio and revealed that he worked on a film with Hollywood director Steven Spielberg. While talking about his position as a top consultant for wrestling-related projects in Hollywood, Guerrero shared that Spielberg is a longtime wrestling fan.

“I just finished working with Steven Spielberg,” Chavo Guerrero revealed. “Just finished… the movie is still not out yet, and he was a wrestling fan. We were exchanging André the Giant stories and when he used to watch wrestling down at the (Grand) Olympic Auditorium and you know, John Tolos, The Golden Greek used to be one of his favorites and we’re talking about all of this stuff and these are people that I grew up with, that I’ve known since I was a kid and to have that rapport with Spielberg… He was a fan because he got it. He understood the entertainment value of pro wrestling.”
